A demon telling you not to read this book.

I never finished this book, so the full plot evades me, but I remember the beginning chapter (perhaps chapters?) were just telling you not to read this book and that something bad will happen to you if you continue reading. Then it switched into a biography of a demon or a devil growing up in an abusive demon household... this is as far as I can remember, if I even remember that correctly...

Does it ring any bells to anyone?
