I read this book when I was teenager, so it couldn't have been published any later than around 2002, and probably before 2000.

I recall the following:

There was a group of teenagers from all over the world who were all super smart, and went through a series of aptitude and intelligence tests to be selected as crew on a space mission. I think the main protagonist was female.

Once in space, something happened (I can't remember what), and [SPOILER ALERT] I think one or all of the crew dies and is reincarnated or something like it.

At various points in the book quantum physics was discussed, and Schrodinger's cat, and as mentioned above, reincarnation.

Really hope the brains trust comes up with a title!
