Okay, so I added some words to our spell out place in Zone 3. When we finish our Zone 1 and then Zone 2 books, we can start finishing our words.
Let's try to have our Zone 1 books finished by Sunday - how does that sound to everyone?
I have my i book done. I just need to add my date read. I’ll have my 3rd book done tomorrow.
I'll try to finish my P book tomorrow then.
Sounds good! I actually read several books today for another challenge and this one but either two or three I finished today and didn’t even think to wait until we were done with the first zone to actually finish those books. Now I can’t use them for the spell-out. Ugh...so mad at myself! For the Turf Wars Challenge (which I think you are in, Jenny), we have until the 15th at 11:59 PM PST to post those books. So I am obviously trying to coordinate them and I have quite a few books that I’m reading for that challenge that I will add as soon as I can to this one. But I am not finishing anymore books for that one until I HAVE to!
So as soon as you all finish your book(s) please get them posted so I can complete mine in time to use for both challenges. Otherwise I won’t have very many for the spell-out. But if you guys can’t finish them then that’s OK because we obviously are all in this together. LOL
Oh you were talking about zone 3..I can move to thereFor zone 2, I thought I read that it have to be a previous BOM or read by someone previously. I’m still trying to figure out how it all works here :)
For Zone 1, at least 2 of the books we read need to be prior BOMs or books read by another team. Vicki covered 2 with her books already, so we don't need to worry about covering any more.Right now, we are all reading for Zone 1. When we're done that, we'll probably work on Zone 2. Then, we'll move on to Zone 3.
Tentative timeline:
Zone 1: finish Saturday 9/14
Zone 2: finish Sunday 9/15
Zone 3: SIO - can start finishing books after Zone 2 is done (can read up to 95% of a book just not finish it until the other zones are done)
I'm done with 2 books from Safety Zone 1. Jenny, I took your P spot since I had the The Perfect Mother saved over from Lava zone 1
Just one more book to complete and we can move to 2. I already have my book so I can start as soon as we're ready!
I've also claimed a few letters in 3 - and I own them so if we skip 2, I can start THOSE anytime too!
I hope I'm right that we can START the safe zones, 1, 2, and 3 as long as we don't finish them out of sequence. Because I have about 7-8 books up to 95% finished and I'm HOPING we have Safe Zone 1 finished today so that I can finish up those books and use them for this challenge. I'm holding off on finished and adding them to the Turf Wars challenge in hopes of using them for us. LOL Man, this finagling is hard at times! LOL
When does this round end? Does it end next week....Friday? Saturday? I can't seem to find an actual date for the end of this round (just the countdown round).......
Yes, that's my understanding too Vicki. We can start just not finish books. I'm in the same situation with Turf Wars. I think the round will probably end ~ 9/18th. We should see a notification in the main thread in a day or two with the final deadline.

Hi! I thought we couldn’t finish zone 2 books until zone 1 was done. I got a message asking to finish my zone 2 book today. Not sure if I’ll have it done. Sorry I misunderstood the rules can someone please explain what’s going on again? I appreciate it!!
Hi Jill. You are right, we can't finish the Zone 2 books until Zone 1 is done. So, right now, we are reading/finishing books for Zone 1. I understand you probably won't finish your book today. So, what we'll do is move your book from Zone 1 to Zone 3 for the SIO. We'll find another book to work for N, so we can finish our Zone 1 and Zone 2 books today.
A couple of us, Vicki and me, are also reading books for another challenge that has today as a deadline. That's why we're making this extra push to finish books today for this challenge. Otherwise, we wouldn't be asking to speed up reading times.
We can use your book in the SIO section (Zone or Group 3 on the SS). Can you move it to a place it will fit?
I just finished a book by Neal Shusterman we can use for N, so we can start finishing our books for Zone 2.
Trisha, will you be done with A Twist of Oleander today?
FYI, I moved Jill's book to Group 3 - the word ANY.If Trisha doesn't finish her Group 2 book today, I'll remove the books I put under the word COVER in Group 3.
Jill, I’m sorry if my PM confused you. Like I said, NO PRESSURE. I simply was explaining if you could finish it and post as soon as you did that it would be helpful. We all realize you came into the challenge late. There’s no pressure at all! :)

I can definitely finish my book today - I'll start it nowbut we aren't going to get in trouble with the MODS right? looking like we finished one category AND a 2nd category on the same day (looks concurrent) I thought there had to be a day/date change between finishing zones....but of course, I could definitely be wrong

Oh. My. Gosh. I certainly hope not! There should be a way for them to see times our books were started/ended I would think. We're so stressed over getting burned! LOL

If I remember correctly, we can only read 40 books total per round, right? It shows that we've read 17 already, but I count 19 that have the dates added for finished. We also have books for the spell-out and the ones I added I'll be done with tonight. I guess we get penalized if we read more than 40 books so we need to be careful. I can remove a couple of my books if someone else wants a couple spots. I just don't want to have to recoup points again. LOL I don't even know what we have to do to regenerate points but I guess we're about to find out soon. LOL

That's awesome. When you're done that book, see what book you want to read next and see if it will work in one of the words we are spelling out. We'll work together to try and fill out the rest of the word.
So I didn't finish my N book. But I did finish Watching You by Lisa Jewell. It has a lot of MC with T, F, J, M, R, N, L, G, and V. I'm not sure how this works, so let me know where you would like me to place. Finishing up my N book tomorrow. Then starting on The Little Prince.Just a heads up, I'm moving on Monday, which is why my reading has been off/slow. I hope you all can be patient with me. Once that's done, I hope to pick up the pace a bit more.

Ugh - moving. I had to shut down my parent's house early this year and get that ready for sale, and move myself from one rental to another so I feel ya!!
Ugh is right -_- I'm getting through it though. The best part about moving is throwing out half of your stuff XD

Stockton is a HORRIBLE area to have to walk 6 blocks alone!!!! This is a very high crime area & gangs thrive here! Anyway today is day one & I’m hoping the last. We go on vacation the 30th so I’m hoping to get off this time! I can’t read in the courtroom so fingers crossed!!! Hopefully I’ll not get called in for jury selection and I can read all day. Lol

I'm trying to catch up now!! The other hard part about the move is losing my library, which is where I get all my books from. I'm going from a big city to a small one with one small branch. Although, I do have some books on my Kindle and I have KU

Gotcha. I'll delete it from the ss and finish up Charlotte's Web tn.I'm almost done with the N book I just put. It doesn't fit the prompts anyway. My I book has to be returned on Monday when I move, so that's out too.
I can commit to the spiky book for round 4.
