SOLVED. Looking for this book. She goes to this academy in NY where the MC discovers a dark plot. [s]

Soooo basically in my softmore year of highschool so about 2015 I read this book about this girl going to some prestige acadamy in new york. Her best friend, simon i think his name was, doesn't want her to go. She gets there and learns the headmistress is evil and using students for her plans. She falls for the right hand man, and kisses him in an elevator. (view spoiler)[ it was her best friend simon she actually ends up kissing. (hide spoiler)] The very end involves her beating the bad guys.. but killing the right hand man of the headmistress and at the very end she thinks she hears him whisper her name.
