crime fiction book first in the series theres abduction of boys in the town so the sheriff who studied law was helped by a woman fbi agent

Okay I need help... i few months back I started a book and I know it was the first of a series. The story was about the kidnapping of boys. The sheriff was a lawyer or studied law and became the sheriff because his dad was the sheriff and asked him to be when he retired. The sheriff has a sister who is a journalist and divorced and has a son and later was kidnapped also. And someone from the fbi came in to help.. I think.
If anyone could help me with the title pls... I wanted to finish it thanks...
Now I remeber I think the serries is about the Fbi agent who helped the sherif solved it. Lady fbi agent..
