I know, it's been an odd few weeks. I'm struggling to find spare time to read too!

how's reading been? are you reading physical books or more audios??

I am still reading probably an equal amount of all three (audio, physical and ebook).

At the moment though it seems like I don't have the focus to multi book read and I have been reading one in its entirety before starting another.

wow, a lot has happened in so few pages

CDC (view spoiler)[ so they've made contact but Atlanta sounds pretty miserable. I live about 30 minutes from Atlanta (i've driven by CDC a few times now) and I can't imagine how crazy it would be. In my county alone there are almost 1 million people and I'm only a small small part of Georgia..... (hide spoiler)]

I am through the first part. I meant to go slow but it is a quick read and very action packed so far.

I agree, so much happened so quickly. I too was shocked(view spoiler)[ by Gav's death but you are correct, it is realistic. I suspected it may happen but didn't think it would happen quite so soon or that Kaelyn wouldn't really get a goodbye. (hide spoiler)]

The first five chapters I kept being worried for the party and berating their decisions (view spoiler)[ to stop, to have a fire etc, but as Kaelyn points out, all decisions available to them were not good. (hide spoiler)]

It is neat that you live in the country that this book is set and in near the city they are journeying to. I am curious to see if the CDC location has been well researched as I recall the author dropped some balls in her portrayal of the MC's as Canadians.

All of these spoilers are good to read up to the end of ch. five.

I am so on nerve and worried about the party as (view spoiler)[ traveling by tractor does not seem super safe and I feel like their luck will run out sooner or later. I am also worried about what will happen when they arrive at the CDC. (hide spoiler)]

Well I need to get some rest but will likely finish tomorrow despite my earlier request to go slow. I don't think I can wait to find out how this ends, plus I went to the walk in clinic and got meds. Hopefully I will feel a bit better by Christmas day.

I finished today as well. Wow!! Was that ever a great finished to a series that started kind of slow and meh. I was surprised with what the author brought to the table. It was not what I had expected. I am glad we stuck with this one and finished it. I was a little bit unhappy that it ended so abruptly. I wanted to find out what happened to the people who helped them, I wanted to see the reunion with her cousin and I wanted her to bring vaccines personally to the people important to her who helped with her journey.

But I did see that there is a novella that comes after....

I am still debating between and 3 and four star rating only because I was unhappy with the conclusion. Don't get me wrong, I loved Kae's solution but I disliked how very quickly it ended. To me it felt a little unfinished.
