QOTD: How many books did you read in September? What was your favorite and least favorite reads of the month?

Nothing stuck out to me as a favorite.
My least favorite was probably Almond by Sohn Won-Pyung.

I love ebooks and physical copies. I love having physical copies of my favorite books and being able to annotate and leave my thoughts in the margins, etc. However, I love the convenience of ebooks, specifically on my Kindle Paperwhite. It's honestly my emotional support Kindle at this point. I take it with me everywhere. It's super lightweight, I can read in any setting, the battery lasts forever, and it's perfect for me being a mood reader since I can have thousands of books at my fingertips. Plus, it's like reading on paper (hence, the name) and it doesn't hurt my eyes or give me a headache. Not to mention, you can customize it however you want. I have a clear case, a Kindle insert I made, and a popsocket on the back. A lot of people will throw in cute, bookish stickers and change them out whenever they want. I'll read ebooks on my Kindle Paperwhite, but if I have a digital copy of a graphic novel or manga, I will typically read those on my iPad. But you can't beat the feeling of a physical book in your hands.

There's a lot that I'd love to read in October, but I can never stick to a TBR. Some books that I know I'd love to read/plan to read this month are:
• Pumpkinheads – re-read
• The Halloween Tree – re-read
• Mooncakes – re-read
• The Drowning Kind – book club

I finished 4.
Graphic novels:
• Carmilla: The First Vampire
• Paper Planes
Novels:
• The Wolf and the Woodsman
• From the Dust Returned
And I read more in Pucking Around and In the Company of Witches
My favorite book that I finished in September was The Wolf and the Woodsman and my least favorite was Carmilla: The First Vampire.

12 books
Favorite - Twist of Faith by Ellen J. Green
Least favorite - Yosemite Firestorm by Tanya Stowe

I'm not sure if I will carve a pumpkin this year. If I do, it will be a spontaneous adventure/activity.

yeah. i always just do some classic jack o lantern faces. that's about the extent of my abilities lol

I think I've carved pumpkins 2-3 times in my life lol. The answer is probably no.

No. I have never been a pumpkin carver.

I think it would have to be The Death of Vivek Oji by Akwaeke Emezi. It's one of my favorite books, and one of the only books that made me cry many tears. I want to reread it and annotate my own copy.

Lark Ascending by Silas House. Great, kept me guessing and I cared about the characters. My heart broke. And I love post apocalyptic stories. 5 stars.

I remember when I first read The Book Thief, it was so desperately sad that I had to stop every couple pages and cry. A very life changing little book.
QOTD: If you read multiple books at a time, how do you juggle all of them? What's your process for making time for all of your current reads? If you only read one book at a time, have you ever tried having multiple current reads? Let's share and discuss.

I'm usually always reading more than one book. They're typically different genres, or I'm reading a novel and a manga/graphic novel. I just read whichever one I'm in the mood for at the moment. I've never had an issue with getting them mixed up.

i usually read more than one book at a time because i like having options to go between. i actually feel like i read faster when i have those options

I read multiple books at a time. Love it. I read whatever I am in the mood for. And I also feel like I read faster this way.

I usually split it up between formats. I'll have one or two audiobooks downloaded I can listen to while I'm driving or whatever, an e-book, and maybe a physical copy at home to pick up during down time. I try not to check out more physical books until I've the read ones at home though.
QOTD: Do you prefer to solo read or do a buddy read? Do you like to chat about the books with people or just leave your thoughts in a review on Goodreads/Instagram/Book Blog, etc.

I like a solo read, and just leave my thoughts on Goodreads.

I like a buddy read every once in awhile, but I prefer to solo read. I'll chat with friends about the general events in the book, but I mainly leave a review on GR.

I prefer solo reads, but have participated in few really good buddy reads. I always leave stars but rarely a review (on Goodreads only).

i usually just read solo, but i like to do a buddy read every now and then. whether i talk with people about a book or not really just depends on how much i have to say about the book
QOTD: How do you determine what books are in your personal collection? If you read an e-book and love it will you buy the physical copy? Do you only keep unread books? Do you only keep your favorites? Do you keep every book you read? Etc. Let's share and discuss.

i keep books that i gave 4-5 stars or books i've annotated heavily. i try to get my hands on all the books ive read and loved through the library but it's a slow process lol

If I read the e-book and love it sometimes I'll buy the physical copy but it's not always immediately. No, I don't keep every book I read because that would be madness and claustrophobic.

I want my personal library to be filled with books that are a reflection of me as a reader – books I've loved, favorites of all time, and books that I've heavily annotated leaving a piece of me tucked away inside of them. I have read books from the library and on my Kindle that I have loved so much that I have bought a physical copy to put on my bookshelf. I will also buy special editions or multiple copies of my absolute favorites.

QOTD: Are you able to read in the car when you're a passenger? If you're the driver, are you able to listen to an audiobook while you're driving?

i can't read in the car it makes me dizzy. every now and then i'm able to actually pay attention to an audio book but i typically go for music when i'm in the car

I can't focus on an audiobook while driving, but I can read as a passenger.

QOTD: What smell do you associate with Fall? (This can be a perfume/cologne fragrance, food, spices, candle fragrances, etc.)

Most of the time I can read in the car when I'm the passenger. It's usually on my Kindle for convenience and I can read easily if it gets dark. When I'm driving I can listen to audiobooks, but I only do that when I'm driving alone. I go back and forth between music and audiobooks. But, if there are other people in the car, then I'll have music playing.

There are quite a few smells I associate with fall, but they're all warmer scents - like cinnamon, vanilla, apple, pumpkin, maple, etc. I also associate the smell of a bonfire and toasted marshmallows with the autumn season.
