Question of the Day
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What item/product is your current obsession, and why?"I don't think there's anything I'm currently obsessed with lol.
Recently, I have gone overboard buying the cutest stuffed animals. I think there is something psychologically wrong with me. lol
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What item/product is your current obsession, and why?"im gonna say yarn because ive been crocheting a lot lately
QOTD: What is your favorite thing about summer? What's your favorite summer-related hobby/activity?
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What is your favorite thing about summer? What's your favorite summer-related hobby/activity?"i'm not the biggest fan of summer, but i do like that it stays daylight outside for longer. & i love swimming even though i haven't done it in a really long time
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What is your favorite thing about summer? What's your favorite summer-related hobby/activity?"It is warm and sunny, and fresh cut grass.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What is your favorite thing about summer? What's your favorite summer-related hobby/activity?"I don't like much about summer.
If it's not too hot, I enjoy going for a hike or sitting at the park and reading.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: If you could bring one extinct species back to life, which one would you choose and why?"Carolina Parakeet, the last one died in Cincinnati Zoo in 1939, but they were beautiful birds. I'd like to see them come back.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What playlist or album are you listening to right now?"My 60's music playlist on Apple. Marvin Gaye, CCR, Rolling Stones and some Temptations. Music from my childhood lol
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What playlist or album are you listening to right now?"a lot of bruce springsteen atm. his album born to run specifically has been on repeat
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: Who is your favorite movie director, and why?"it's either jordan peele or david cronenberg. they're both such clever directors, and cronenberg has the added bonus of also creating some strange things only he could think of lol
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: Who is your favorite movie director, and why?"I don't pay attention to directors of movies. Oops.
One of my faves is Christopher Nolan. His films are brilliant and always are so tense and visually stunning.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: When you need to destress, what is your favorite go-to activity?"lately i like to listen to music while i either go for a walk or crochet
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: When you need to destress, what is your favorite go-to activity?"Sleep, or maybe watch re-runs of an old tv show.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What's your go-to summer treat to beat the heat?"I guess ice cream or a fruit smoothie.
QOTD: If you could have any fictional food from a book, movie, or TV show become real, what would you choose and why?
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: If you could have any fictional food from a book, movie, or TV show become real, what would you choose and why?"Probably some food from a Ghibli film. It always looks so tasty, but I can't always tell what it is lol.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: If you could have any fictional food from a book, movie, or TV show become real, what would you choose and why?"Romulan ale. I like the name and I am a Star Trek fan.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: If you could have any fictional food from a book, movie, or TV show become real, what would you choose and why?"Creme de la creme ala edward or whatever its called from the Aristocats lol
I didn't want to pick someone that I'd usually pick, so I think I'll go with Brian from The Prettiest Star by Carter Sickels. Everyone treated him so poorly, and all I wanted was to be his friend. A great book if you're wanting something sad to read.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What was the last thing you got really excited about?"I guess the Kindle that I bought lol.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What is your favorite restaurant, and why?"There is a restaurant in my hometown called Big Als, and it has the best stromboli and sauce that I've ever had. They also have really good subs. It's well-loved there and I miss it!
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What is your favorite restaurant, and why?"The Wrigley taproom in Corbin. Best cheeseburger ever, and I could eat a bucket of their fried brussel sprouts.
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: What item/product is your current obsession, and why?"I would probably say my Kindle Paperwhite. I didn't expect to love it as much as I do, but it has quickly became my emotional support Kindle.
I have no idea. The only thing that comes to mind is tying our shirt up with a hair tie and tucking it so you could see the tank top underneath lol. It was popular where I grew up at least.
QOTD: Since it's the last weekend of July, do you have any end-of-the-month goals that you're trying to hit? What books are you trying to finish up before the end of July?
LCPL wrote: "QOTD: Since it's the last weekend of July, do you have any end-of-the-month goals that you're trying to hit? What books are you trying to finish up before the end of July?"I don't really have any goals. I just wanted to finish The Kite Runner, and I think I'll be able to do that.
End-of-the month goal:Group monthly read, Caraval by Stephanie Garber.
And, I am trying to finish:
The Kill Artist by Daniel Silva
Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt

-Preferably diverse (lgbtqia+, different races, different cultures, etc.)
-I enjoy when a book teaches me something about the world that I didn't already know.
-I don't care for a romantic storyline.
-I enjoy reading about family dynamics (found family or not.)
-The cherry on top is a cool cover.
