SOLVED. Boy from poor family who is learning to draw a particular bird. [s]

This boy is kind of abandoned and abused. He is a newspaper boy and I remember one time it was cold outside but his father still made his him go to work to he had to put on every piece of clothing he owns.
He's kind of looking around a library one day and finds a drawing (or a sculpture) of a bird and wants to learn how to draw it so an older man who works at the library offers to teach him.
