Edward or Jacob?

I absolutely choose Edward. I don't think Jacob can give Bella what she needs. Dr. Phil (I know...bear with me please) always says that children bare the brunt of divorces. I think that Bella sometimes does things not exactly due to the divorce but because she was always more of an adult than her mother. She didn't have a normal home life growing up. Edward can give her the structure and care that she has been longing for. After taking care of her mother for so long, it's nice for Bella to be taken care of. Jacob may try, but he is by no means able to give Bella what she needs. Edward is definitely the right match for Bella.

I agree with both Jai and Marissa. I agree Jai that we can't completely fault Bella for falling in love with Jacob. She has never been in love before and now she loves two different people so severely and at completely different levels of intensity that it would make anyone confused. Jacob was there for her when she needed someone the most. Like Edward even said in Eclipse, he left her bleeding and Jacob was there so sew her back up and that leaves it's mark. She just needs to work out her feelings and choose either way because even though she's allowed to LOVE them both, she can't HAVE them both. I know that Jai said that Edward is a little intense and Jacob just young and in love but I can sympathize with them both. Edward has been waiting a long time to love someone like Bella (a century) and Jacob IS young. Most young love is no more than puppy love and I'm sure that in time Jacob will be able to move on. I doubt that Bella or Edward would be able to if they didn't have each other. Here's where I agree with Marissa, I think Edward can be the right man for Bella. I think he is what she needs. He would die for her, everything he does and every choice he makes is for Bella. He would even sacrifice his heart by letting Bella choose Jacob if she wanted to. Bella can't be without Edward. She feels pain just being away from him for a couple of hours and even though she feels bad away from Jacob, she forgets about him when she's with Edward. She's totally and completely happy and content with Edward. I think that their love is the truest and purest. Bella is lucky to have so much love around her and I don't fault her for loving back, I just think that she has some hard decisions ahead of her.

I agree sooo completely with Alexis and Marissa and Jessica!

You know what strikes me as I stand in front of my bookcase flipping through random parts of these books (Eclipse most of all) (...and yes I do this on a regular basis... doesn't everyone?) is how well written the most emotional scenes are. In particular: Bella trying to decide if it's possible for Juliet to fall in love with Paris, where Jacob is holding her in New Moon... and also, the scene where Jacob kisses her the second time) in Eclipse. Oh.. my... goodness. Those scenes are so fraught with emotional and physical tension! And they are so, SO well-written. I kind of missed it the first time through because I was so worried about what was going to happen (I'm Team Edward all the way, so all the stuff with Jacob was just excruciating!) that I couldn't pay attention to the writing. But, knowing what happens, I can go back and read those parts and appreciate just how finely they're crafted. Go Stephenie!! :D

(side note: Ok, I realize I just said the stuff with Jacob was excruciating; I love Jacob too, I just think Bella needs to be with Edward. Please, PLEAAAASE let Jacob imprint in book four...!)

Edward is completely perfect, I mean if there was no Edward she (Bella) would be perfect with Jacob, but, come on, Edward was there the whole time and he only ever did what he thought would be better for her in the long run, Jacob...not so much! Besides Jacob is really immature and annoying. He's worse than my little brothers, and that's saying something! >:P
