This book is about a girl who does not know she is a witch, but her mother does. it starts of with the girl walking to school, but accidentally gets hit by a car, she gets up and goes to school anyway, she has straight A's. Her mum is a curvy redhead, described as "beautiful" but one day her mother goes missing. She then Goes and looks for her mother. this is when she finds out that she is a witch and that her mother has been stopping her from assessing her powers, and putting hair dye in her shampoo to make her hair brown. The effects of her mother from stopping the girls power, has stumped her growth, but as her mother is away she starts to blossom into a atractive redhead girl, where she discovers a phrocery about a young girl ( withc) being born when the Comet passes over. We then discover that this girls mother was trying to protect her. and that she saves her mother by "riding a rainbow, which she dosent literaly do but there is a rainbow beam" into a different realm where she saves her mother as well as facing other witches.
Some other information:
- during her mothers disapearence, she goes overseas where she discovers she is powerful and this girl takes her to a party
- Some ritual while overseas including the ocean,and being left there for a while
- Boys start to notice her more.


I know this book sounds weird but i really want to read it , its constanting been stuck in my head and i just need to read it again.

Oooh I've got this one! Looks like Kate got it first though - I have read War of the Witches by Maite Carranza (El Clan de la Loba in the original. It is set in Spain) and that whole scenario with the mother secretly giving her hair dye that also stunts her growth is there. Then the mom disappears and she joins a coven and stuff.
