SOLVED. YA Horror slasher book, kids being murdered based on the elements (fire, water, earth). One of the kids was an athlete of some sort and there was a fire in the gym/locker room. I read this in the late 90’s/early 2000’s. [s]

Was it a series? It sounds sort of similar to something I read back in the 90s Losing Christina Collection. This is the title of the anthology, but it has separate books about fire, snow, etc.
