Even though she's really rude, I kinda like Greta. She's one of those old ladies who's been alive forever and seen some shit and she doesn't need to impress anyone at her age so she's just a grouchy old lady. I love her haha.

The reveal about the hospital being part of the Bartholomew and Jules never left threw me. Such a good reveal. And the whole harvesting organs from the apartment sitters? Evil and crazy and I've never read anything like it, yet it reminded me slightly of Get Out (slightly, because of the whole inviting poor single underprivileged people to their 'world' and harvesting them to keep the rich people healthy) and it's shocking and I fucking love it.

Even if she's very central to the whole scheme, I still really liked Greta and appreciated her allowing Jules to escape in the end.

Another favourite from Riley Sager. Loved every one of his books so far and can't wait to get my hands on the next one!!

This is decently spooky so far, I have no theory as to what's going on yet.

I'm gonna some wild guesses out here just for fun: Since everything is so secretive, the people apartment sitting basically have no solid evidence of being at the Bartholomew. Maybe it's a human trafficking thing? Or maybe those super rich people are using the sitters for some weird purpose like hunting them for sport. I'm probably way off hahaha I watch too many horror movies 😂 (hide spoiler)]

This was my first Riley Sager book (then read the other two) and I loved it. A lot of people seemed to have preconceived notions from the first two books (they either had very high hopes for this one, or felt Sager needed to prove himself after the last two.)

I like books that have both - some part of the mystery that I can play detective with and solve, and some part of it that is completely unexpected and throws me off. This book had both for me so I was super pleased!

(view spoiler)[ I knew from the beginning that she wasn't in a real hospital and that she'd be revealed to be in the Bartholomew still. The doctor's behavior seemed off to me.

I also knew Nick was going to turn out being involved, but that's just because they slept together so quickly, LOL.

The part about harvesting organs for rich people - that BLEW ME AWAY! I loved it. I haven't seen too similar of a storyline to this before and I love that. Someone above (I apologize for not knowing the name of who!) mentioned that this had some Get Out vibes, and I totally agree. Kidnapping/murdering young, healthy loners for their organs is SO GNARLY, and they all absolutely believed it was due to them. Disgusting but fascinating.

As much as I wanted to know what happened, I am kind of glad we never found out what happened with her sister. I thought they were going to somehow tie her disappearance into the Bartholomew story line and that just seemed too unrealistic to me and would have been too neat of a package. Sometimes you never find out what happened so I thought it was a cool thing to leave open. (hide spoiler)]
