SOLVED. Time traveling at an old house. [s]

The story is about a girl in an old house who time travels to the past and meets an old relative. the relative refers to her as "Lass". she tells the boy about in the future a stair on the staircase being squeaky so he puts an extra nail in making it not squeaky in the present. there is also a moment when she has her picture taken (at a wedding I think) and she sees herself in a picture in the present and realizes she needs to be more careful. I read this book between 2007-2011 when I was in grade 3-6, it was in one of the classrooms.

That's not it, the main character wasn't at a boarding school. I think the travelling might have had something to do with something in an attic, which is why she mentioned the squeaky stairs because she had to sneek up at night.
