I thought it was based on the instructions in post #1 but I'll let the moderator answer definitively.

Mod Trea is actually the author of this challenge, JoAnne, so I'll let her come and clarify the rules.

This is rule #3 in the list, quoted exactly: "📜You should read the books in the order of your chosen name!"
It does not say MUST, JoAnne, so therefore skipping around is discouraged, but allowed. I believe that's how some of the folks that have finished have done it.
However, since my post seems to have been such a problem, I withdraw from the challenge.
Let's remember that we never know exactly what another person's home, time, and reading situation is like. No one should be made to feel singled out in our challenges for the way they participate. If there are questions about how a member is participating in a challenge, private message them directly or private message Mod Trea herself, since I know she's a stay at home mom and would be quicker to respond to such messages.

It was a stressed suggestion, not an actual hard and fast requirement. The rules stated "You should read the books in the order of your chosen name!" and the word should does not mean have to, at least not to me.
However, due to all the controversy regarding this challenge, it will not be repeated in the group again. So, no need to stress about doing it in order for next time!

Did not mean to add to any drama. It was just a simple statement to no one but myself as I have completed few to any challenges in a timely manner.

Mod Trea ran across this as she was looking for readathons for the year and thought it would be a great quarterly challenge idea. She originally found it at http://namereading.blogspot.com/ and all credit due goes to the author of that blog, however, there are several other versions of the challenge floating around out there.
Duration: July 1st to September 30th, 2019
How To’s:
📜 The original challenge was to read your name in order using book title first letters, ultimately spelling out your name. That means: Using your first name, or blogger name, or your pets name, or even your favorite literary character's name; whichever you like, choose books with first title letters that spell out your name. However, the mods have decided to expand it to allow use of Title, Author (First and Last Name only!), or Series Name to spell out your chosen name, but keeping the in order restriction.
📜 There are no page minimums for this challenge!
Rules:
📜 NAMES ONLY PLEASE! You DO NOT have to use your whole name; just your first name if you want, & initials are okay. No words like: water, book, blue, etc. please, just regular old official NAMES.
📜Books read before 7/1/19 do not count. Re-Reads, audio books, and eBooks are okay. Crossovers with other challenges are welcomed!
📜You should read the books in the order of your chosen name!
