Childrens/YA - Livingstone? - Chapter one title something about an explorer from somewhere like Blantyre

I remember reading a really good book as a child (around the turn of the 80s). All I can remember now is that the title of chapter one was something like "The Boy from Blantyre", or some strange place like that, and i'm sure the book had some reference to "Livingstone". Whether that was the author or a character I don't know. Please help!!!!!

Paul, did this book cover different explorers or just the Scottish explorer David Livingstone?

I can't remember. I suspect just Livingstone.
