Gavin I thought that the ending was a little too "Happy Ending" cliche, but it was a nice twist on things. Not sure on how i feel about the book as a whole. Didn't love it but i also Didn't hate it.

Jan I was confused by the ending. I wasn't sure if Gabriel was alive or not. I've read reviews where a lot people think the ending meant he's dead. That whole thing with Cullen speaking in third person was just weird. He would always start it off with "when one is..." Sometimes the things he would go on to say seemed perfectly normal, other times they seemed like fantasy, like when all the friends and family came to the house and sat at the table and then tuned into zombies. So when the ending started with "when one is..." and Gabriel comes home, I didn't know if it was real or fantasy. What do you think?

Gavin I do see where your coming from but I think that Gabriel did end up living but I too got the confusion from that

Jan I just thought the whole book was a little confusing. Not really a fan of the story. I absolutely loved his second book Noggin though.

Carolyn I was intriqued by Whaley's ability to take two completely separate story lines--well apparently separate--and then pull them together at the end. It worked for me. For me Gabriel came home, and that did not bother me at all.

Cheryl But what happened to the kidnapper? Last we saw I thought he told Gabriel that he was going to kill the boy.

(I wasn't crazy about the book, either, but I did try to read it carefully.)
