I’m trying to think of the title to a book I read in middle school. I hated it so I’ve blocked most of the information out of my brain, but it’s about a girl who is an orphan and I think she goes to live with estranged grandparents and/or with a foster family. Her name isn’t Hazel but it’s something that reminds me of Hazel. She might have collected buttons or had a box that she kept small items in. The cover of the book was black and white. There also might have been a tree that meant something. I know this is so vague but it’s killing me not being able to remember what this book is!!!
