Born pre/post 1975? This is cutoff of 44, do people think that's a good age cutoff or too young?

I'm about to leave for a few hours, but can ask some once I get back.

I was reading The Red Queen: Sex and the Evolution of Human Nature for epilogue but as that is done does anyone have another book with red or queen in title? I can do both as i also have The Red Queen on my TBR and they would fit bucket 13

The author of the first is from UK which is an Island and would cover bucket 12

I am exam invigilating most of day tomorrow so won't get much reading done - I am going to try and sleep soon

I can finish The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time for the island prompt he is from the UK.

I might try and start Mrs. Dalloway for a book that takes place in the summer but I likely will be slow.

I agree, Marie -- I'm guessing that the 1001 list skews a little older, so we might want to change the birth year based on the answer.

I'm likely to finish Playing Beatie Bow tomorrow morning -- the author, Ruth Ware, is from New Zealand, so that could count for an author from an island.

The other books I'm reading at the moment don't have many common words except like "the" and "of," and those feel kind of like cheating.

A happy coincidence that the audiobook I was almost finished with fits into bucket 12. I just finished The People We Hate at the Wedding which works for bucket 12's prompt A book about a person who travels to another country. The main characters travel from the US to England for a wedding.

For bucket 13, I just finished Diary of a Young Girl if someone is reading a book with one of those words (young and girl are common)

I always have tons of books going. I try and keep it under 10 books.

I think a different team is planning on two people reading the same book. It meets the requirement of having the same word and I think it is actually harder than just matching a word.

I'll read more of George but not finish it tonight since I don't know if we have the island prompt. I can easily finish it during breakfast if the island prompt is finished by then.

Wow! I usually have an audio and a book or kindle, but rarely more than that. Well, I guess I've also been reading Howard Zinn's History of the United states for 3 years now.

I finished All Your Perfects. I think it just counts towards page count though.

I just downloaded The Snow Queen audio. Just in case we need a book with queen. I still have 100 pages left on The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time it is a quick read but I don’t have much for reading.

Traci, I didn’t start George as we had enough books for that bucket. I have got it from the library though, and it looks quite short, so I could probably read it today, depending on when I get home from work.

I don’t think the books I’m reading that I’m likely to finish will fit any of these prompts, so I’m happy to pick up whatever is needed.

For recommendations, I loved Home Fire, On the Come Up, The Thread, The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox, The Hate U Give, My Sister, the Serial Killer.

I thought for the recommendation prompt, could it be interpreted as anything that someone in this group has rated 5 stars on GR? We could then look through everyone’s ratings, to see if there was something we were either already reading, or could easily get.

I have been having trouble with Gertie my gallstone who seems to have taken it into her head to keep me awake at night so I am absolutely worn out today I don't know if i can be counted on for tasks

the one i have started for author from an island won't be finished before late this evening my time - maybe 12 or 13 hours from now. I have got a couple of agatha christies which would fit and i might get through quicker if nobody else completes this task.

I MUST have a book with Girl in the title simply because it seems to be in ever other title nowadays.

Oh, hey, Arthur C Clarke used to live in the UK and then moved to Sri Lanka, which is also an island and I am currently reading 2010: Odyssey Two. I probably won’t be able to finish it before the next 5 hours, so someone else can step in as needed. :)

I just finished A Thousand Sisters: The Heroic Airwomen of the Soviet Union in World War II by Elizabeth E. Wein. She currently lives in the UK, but she was born in America. Would this count for the author from an island prompt?

I need still need to read "35. A psychological thriller" which is not something I really like. So if anyone has any recommendations for that prompt that are short I could maybe read a book for that. The book does not have to be great (3 stars or more) mainly just short and hopefully my library will have it.

I know I'm asking a lot of questions about the questions and delaying asking them, but that's because I find this part of our task difficult.

I think from means that they have to be born on an island not just leaving there now but you can ask the mods for clarification and maybe Melinda’s book would count.

I'm listening to The Rosie Project which could be a debut novel for bucket 13 or match another book with "The" in the title.

I'm also planning to start reading The Woman in Cabin 10 which I'm assuming will have some kind of major plot twist for bucket 15 since it's a mystery/thriller. Can anyone who has read it before confirm this (with no spoilers lol)?

The author of George was born on Staten Island. Should we use that for our island prompt and not 2 books with the same word? An island formed by rivers seems less of an island, but it's surrounded by water and Island is in the name.
