Sarah (sezziy) | 614 comments Sorry, got distracted by the suggestions for next year! I've finished Fallout for red cover

message 302: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (ashleym99) Sorry guys I'm trying to get the purple. Should be done in about 3 and half hours. Audiobook. I just saw we needed it so I changes what I was doing to get this. I'll post it as soon as I'm done.

It's okay, Ashley, don't stress about it! Though...I get it, I was totally stressed about finishing Bowlaway yesterday.

We'll just get the next buckets lined up.

message 304: by Hannah (new)

Hannah | 384 comments Hey everyone,

I've just finished Conversations with Friends which doesn't fit any prompts but we can use it for the pages. I've done today's game and added my pages to the spreadsheet.

I'm not reading anything that would work for Bucket 9, but I'm reading The Sun Is Also a Star which could work for either prompt in Bucket 10. I also have two books I could read with a child as a main character - The Queen's Fool and George. I think I'll start them both, and see how I get on. If we need that prompt completed quickly, George is a lot shorter. My hold on The Mars Room is also due soon, so that would give us another option for the celestial body prompt.

message 305: by Marie (UK) (new)

Marie (UK) (mazza1) | 484 comments done the game

message 306: by Kavitha (new)

Kavitha Sivakumar | 14 comments Finished Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman. 286 pages. Could be used for purple cover, if the slot is not filled.

message 307: by Marin (new)

Marin (marinbeth) | 187 comments Looks like I got deleted from the games section of the spreadsheet! Anyway, I've done all four if it's ok to add me back.

message 308: by Traci (new)

Traci (tracibartz) | 1268 comments Marin wrote: "Looks like I got deleted from the games section of the spreadsheet! Anyway, I've done all four if it's ok to add me back."

Sorry, I don't know how that happened! I added you back in and marked you off.

message 309: by Traci (new)

Traci (tracibartz) | 1268 comments Bucket 8 is done! Feel free to finish those bucket 9 books! Maybe I'll take a quick (but longer than these updates) afternoon break in a bit to cross one off.

message 310: by Traci (new)

Traci (tracibartz) | 1268 comments Mods - We have 3 questions for our second author!

1. Games 7 - Is the author a female?
2. Games 8 - Is the author alive?
3. Bucket 8 - Does the author's surname start with a letter A through L?

message 311: by Traci (new)

Traci (tracibartz) | 1268 comments Team - you're killing it with pages read!

message 312: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (ashleym99) finished purple with Geekerella. I'm on phone and cant add to spreadsheet but it's done. will add it when I get home in about an hour and a half

message 313: by Katie (new)

Katie | 2360 comments 1. Games 7 - Is the author a female? YES
2. Games 8 - Is the author alive? YES
3. Bucket 8 - Does the author's surname start with a letter A through L? YES

message 314: by Storm (new)

Storm I did today's game and updated the sheet for it

message 315: by Jillian (last edited Jun 10, 2019 05:04PM) (new)

Jillian | 2880 comments Book in which any kind of sport/game is important to the story The Silver Linings Playbook finished 6/10/19
p. 289 (pages and book have already been added to the spreadsheet).

message 316: by Traci (new)

Traci (tracibartz) | 1268 comments I finished Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic, which spans several years.

We just need one more book that spans several years for bucket 9.

I'll start reading a book with an epilogue tonight in case we need it.

message 317: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (ashleym99) What happens if we run out of buckets? Are more added? Sorry, I have never done this before and I was just wondering. Thanks

message 318: by Laura, Celestial Sphere Mod (new)

Laura | 3780 comments Mod
Yes, we can add more buckets if needed. If we play this one again, we will definitely be upping the goals :)

message 319: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) That's what happens when you make it so much fun, Laura. :)

message 320: by Marie (UK) (new)

Marie (UK) (mazza1) | 484 comments hello from the English Insomniac - mine spans several years but I am only 30% through and may yet fall asleep. I will read some whilst I am awake though

message 321: by Marie (UK) (new)

Marie (UK) (mazza1) | 484 comments 129 pages of Becoming Mrs. Lewis read on 10/06/2019

message 322: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (ashleym99) I will be able to get one done tomorrow for a book that spans several years but I just realized the time and need to get to bed lol. I have to be able to get up for work in the morning lol

message 323: by Karissa (new)

Karissa | 440 comments I finished Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino (which was a really beautiful book), but only counted toward page count.

I doubt I will be able to start and finish A Million Junes for bucket 10 before other people beat me to it so I'm going to start reading The Ocean at the End of the Lane which has an epilogue. It's only 237 pages so I might be able to finish it tomorrow night assuming we've made it to bucket 11 by then.

message 324: by Joan (new)

Joan Barnett | 1972 comments Sorry- it was definitely a Monday.

I completed the game and I updated my pages read. I'll read a little bit before I go to bed tonight as well.

You all are kicking butt!

message 325: by Traci (new)

Traci (tracibartz) | 1268 comments I just noticed, most of our bucket 10 options are Hannah. Do we need people to focus on any bucket 10 prompts? Hannah's post reminded me I have George on my kindle and could read that since Karissa is starting a book with an epilogue.

message 326: by Martha (last edited Jun 10, 2019 08:58PM) (new)

Martha (marthag503) | 513 comments I should finish Where the Mountain Meets the Moon tonight. It fits either celestial or about a child category for bucket 10.

Into the Beautiful North is another book I'm reading and it has an epilogue in case we need it. I've entered both books under my name in planning.

message 327: by Melinda (new)

Melinda (minna17) I am currently reading a book that spans years but I still have 7 hours left on the audiobook so probably won't be able to finish it until tomorrow. It can also be used for the celestial body prompt because it has stars on the cover.

message 328: by Traci (new)

Traci (tracibartz) | 1268 comments I picked up George, so it looks like we'll have a few options for bucket 10 after we get bucket 9 finished. We've read 21,149 pages in 4 days -- that's a ton of reading!

message 329: by Martha (new)

Martha (marthag503) | 513 comments I finished Where the Mountain Meets the Moon so I just added the pages I read today since we aren't on Bucket 10 yet.

message 330: by Veronica (new)

Veronica (ronireads13) | 816 comments I read 60 pages of Victoria and did the My Favorite Things game. On my phone so I can update the sheet tomorrow.

message 331: by Marie (UK) (new)

Marie (UK) (mazza1) | 484 comments i am sure i will have something with an epilogue after i finish spans several years

message 332: by Fee (new)

Fee | 233 comments These last days were way busier than I thought. I hadn't had much reading time. :( But I'll finish a book tomorrow. It could also work for something with an epilogue.

message 333: by Marie (UK) (new)

Marie (UK) (mazza1) | 484 comments I have finished Becoming Mrs. Lewis

spans several years

am invigilating today and have to leave now i will put pages in later if someone can do task input for me

message 334: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) Entered Marie's Becoming Mrs. Lewis to complete Bucket 9, and A Sound Like Thunder for our first child character book on the spreadsheet.

message 335: by Ana (new)

Ana | 53 comments I’m bringing The Enchanted Castle with me to work, so I'll post when I finish it for a child character book.

message 336: by Jillian (new)

Jillian | 2880 comments I attempted today's game. I just recognized one movie so I guess that still counts for playing the game.

message 337: by Hannah (new)

Hannah | 384 comments I’ve finished The Sun is Also a Star for either prompt in Bucket 10. I’m on my phone though, so I can’t update the spreadsheet. I’ll do this when I get home in a couple of hours.

message 338: by Jillian (new)

Jillian | 2880 comments Hannah wrote: "I’ve finished The Sun is Also a Star for either prompt in Bucket 10. I’m on my phone though, so I can’t update the spreadsheet. I’ll do this when I get home in a couple of hours."

I added it to the spreadsheet for celestial body but left a note that it works for both.

message 339: by Traci (new)

Traci (tracibartz) | 1268 comments Anyone have one in mind for interesting /beautiful spine? Marie had mentioned Fawkes at one point.

We have 2 more questions. Right now we know our second author is a female who is still alive whose surname starts with A-L.

Please put out some ideas for questions!

message 340: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments For all of you saying you can't update the spreadsheet from your phone, you know there's a google sheets app, right? I always update my own spreadsheet from my phone and never had any issue with it 😉

message 341: by Katie (new)

Katie | 2360 comments For anyone who felt stumped by the movie game, I added a note
on that post that linked to Bookstr, where the game came from. They included multiple choice options for each movie, if that might make it more fun for people. But of course, you aren't required to get all the answers to count toward playing the game.

message 342: by Ana (new)

Ana | 53 comments I finished The Enchanted Castle, if we still need the second child character book!

message 343: by Traci (new)

Traci (tracibartz) | 1268 comments Bucket 10 is now done! The two tasks for bucket 11 are 1 book with an epilogue and 1 book with an interesting/beautiful spine.

We also have 3 questions we can ask, so fire away if you have anything you'd like to ask.

message 344: by Marie (UK) (new)

Marie (UK) (mazza1) | 484 comments I like Fawkes spine but the only epilogue book I have is going to take a bit longer to finish - it is non fiction and requires concentration

message 345: by Karissa (new)

Karissa | 440 comments I have about 2 hours left of a book with an epilogue and will finish it once I'm home from work today.

message 346: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sezziy) | 614 comments Hi everyone. I'm currently reading Kilmeny of the Orchard. My copy has a gold and green spine which is quite fancy if you need it for that prompt?

message 347: by Storm (new)

Storm I did today's game and updated the spreadsheet for it

message 348: by Melinda (new)

Melinda (minna17) I think is the author on the top 1001 list is a good question to ask again.

message 349: by Hannah (new)

Hannah | 384 comments It looks like we are quite close to having books for bucket 11 read, so I’m just reading a few chapters at a time for the books I’ve already started reading, If/When we get more buckets, I can always switch to reading something that fits better.

For questions, I really think the 1001 books list question worked well as we were able to focus on narrowing down specific authors, so I’d be happy to ask that again.

Or we could try to work out when they were born. For example, Was she born before 1975? (Or other date), and then narrow it down further from that.

message 350: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sezziy) | 614 comments I finished Kilmeny of the Orchard (it was a very quick read) if we still need an interesting spine
