Kristina | 245 comments I just finished Heating Cooling: 52 Micro-Memoirs Heating Cooling 52 Micro-Memoirs by Beth Ann Fennelly , which has a green cover, if still needed.

Veronica (ronireads13) | 816 comments Good job team Ladybug!Sorry I have been a bit MIA, work and family stuff kept me busier than I anticipated.
I have done the first three games (Kickoff, Book Reader Problem Tag, Synonyms and Antonyms) and added them to the spreadsheet. I hope I did it correctly!
Off to get some reading done. I'm not sure if my current read (Victoria) can count for anything other than pages read.

Katie | 2360 comments 12. Bucket 7 - Was he born before 1920? NO

Joan Barnett | 1972 comments I just completed Annihilation. I marked it on the spreadsheet.

message 256: by Jillian (new)

Jillian | 2881 comments If we did the spreadsheet right we are down to 2 authors.

message 257: by Traci (new)

Traci (tracibartz) | 1268 comments I'm thinking try Calvino, anyone care about our guess? I sure hope we didn't accidentally delete anyone!

message 258: by Jillian (new)

Jillian | 2881 comments They are pretty equal guesses to me. I have heard of Umberto but not Italo but that does not mean much : ). I did not know the author of the team that has figured out their author. If we try both and they don't work we at least have a pretty good idea of how to limit the list and will have 2 more guesses on authors.

Now, I better go read!

I slotted you in to green cover!

message 260: by Traci (new)

Traci (tracibartz) | 1268 comments Mods - we have a question.

13. Games 6 - Is our author Italo Calvino?

message 261: by Martha (new)

Martha (marthag503) | 513 comments I'm close to finishing a blue book: The Dog Stars

message 262: by Traci (new)

Traci (tracibartz) | 1268 comments I also have a book with an epilogue (if I can get to it, reading ATY in order).

message 263: by Katie (new)

Katie | 2360 comments 13. Games 6 - Is our author Italo Calvino? YES

CONGRATULATIONS! YOUR AUTHOR IS ITALO CALVINO.

message 264: by Katie (new)

Katie | 2360 comments In order to be the winning team, you have to complete all the buckets and guess your author. Congratulations on guessing the author. You're halfway there.

We will assign you a second author to work on as you continue on your buckets & games.

message 265: by Traci (new)

Traci (tracibartz) | 1268 comments YAY team! We got the author! I have no clue how we would have gotten it without the 1001 list (unless others have heard of him), so shout out to the question idea Karissa and spreadsheeting the authors Hannah!

message 266: by Jillian (new)

Jillian | 2881 comments Great job, everyone! Now to finish our buckets and have fun figuring out another author.

message 267: by Karissa (new)

Karissa | 440 comments Awesome! Great job Team Ladybug! I have Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino sitting unread on my bookshelf so I think I'll switch up my plan and read that instead in honor of our correct guess. It should be a quick read.

Great job guys!

I’ve read If on a Winter's Night a Traveler if anyone is interested in reading something by him.

message 269: by Ana (new)

Ana | 53 comments I read The Time Paradox and The Atlantis Complex for a total of 760. I hope to finish off The Last Guardian before bed, so that will be 1088 pages for today, but we'll see. I think they basically only count for page count, but I'll try reading a book that will count for one of the prompts tomorrow.

message 270: by Joan (new)

Joan Barnett | 1972 comments Great job on guessing the author!

message 271: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) Not a great reading day for me. Only 66 pages. I have added them to the spreadsheet.

Amazing job guessing the author, you guys.

message 272: by Arielle (new)

Arielle | 12 comments Yay! Great job team !!!

message 273: by Veronica (new)

Veronica (ronireads13) | 816 comments Great job everyone!

message 274: by Martha (new)

Martha (marthag503) | 513 comments I finished The Dog Stars for a blue book.

message 275: by Jillian (last edited Jun 09, 2019 09:19PM) (new)

Jillian | 2881 comments Here is my reading for the day and it has been added to the spreadsheet.

Early Riser finished 6/9/19
63 pages

The Austere Academy finished 6/9/19 (just counts toward page count)
40 pages

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time
74 pages

The Silver Linings Playbook-audio
I will add pages when finished

message 276: by Storm (new)

Storm I finished 101 Dalmatians for a book on the TBR page

Added my own pages but will need you to update that it's finished.

message 277: by Traci (new)

Traci (tracibartz) | 1268 comments I've added the books listed above to the spreadsheet. For bucket 8, we still need red, orange, and purple covers.

Great reading this weekend everyone! We'll likely slow down during the week, but looking forward to continuing to move through these buckets and read all the books!

message 278: by Marie (UK) (last edited Jun 10, 2019 12:29AM) (new)

Marie (UK) (mazza1) | 484 comments i will finish britt Marie

then i could read

The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories by Tim Burton which tin eye says is blue

and is very short congrats on guessing the author and yes the 1001 list was a bonus

message 279: by Marie (UK) (new)

Marie (UK) (mazza1) | 484 comments Completed

Britt-Marie Was Here

read 109 pages today

works for page 6 of TBR

I will put page numbers in but can someone do the bucket part for me

message 280: by Marie (UK) (new)

Marie (UK) (mazza1) | 484 comments The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy and Other Stories

I am not convinced this will work - it is poetry - does have 115 pages but there are illustrations on some pages

message 281: by Marie (UK) (last edited Jun 10, 2019 03:38AM) (new)

Marie (UK) (mazza1) | 484 comments i haven't anything else for blue I have completed the book above but not put the oyster boy one in because I am unsure. ETA just realised we don't need blue anymore.

message 282: by Ana (new)

Ana | 53 comments I'm bringing a book with a red cover with me to work, so I should finish it today.

message 283: by Jillian (last edited Jun 10, 2019 06:20AM) (new)

Jillian | 2881 comments I have a little time this morning and at lunch but I don't think I will be able to finish my orange cover until this evening. I won't get to games until this evening either.

I have about 45 mins left on the book for the next bucket for sports so I will check in at lunch to see if the colors (red, orange, purple) have been filled in to see which book to focus on.

Do we have anyone working on spans several years (we need 2 books once we finish our 3 colors left in bucket 8)?

message 284: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments Sorry team, life is seriously getting in the way of reading and goodreads! Congrats on finding the author, you did an amazing job!

I’m going to try and finish Here We Are Feminism for the Real World by Kelly Jensen today so it can count for the orange cover.

message 285: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (ashleym99) I will have a red cover if a few hours. once I finish it I will post it.

message 286: by Traci (new)

Traci (tracibartz) | 1268 comments Marie - in the past, I've been told that poetry still counts as long as the page number is there. Since we don't need that task for cover anymore, you can still add page number.

Sophie - no worries, we all have life! We're still happy you're reading with us!

It looks like we might be able to finish bucket 8 today.
Red - Tatra (I think we had at least one more person reading red)
Orange - Sophie or Jillian
Purple - Joan? Anyone else working on a purple?

For the next bucket, I've got one that takes place over a span of time that I'll be able to finish quickly. Do we have another in the works?

For questions, I'll probably start with male/female, dead/alive, surname A-L and then rely on what the group wants after that.

Happy Monday! (or almost Tuesday).

message 287: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (ashleym99) I found one for purple. I will work in purple and leave other person for red

message 288: by Traci (new)

Traci (tracibartz) | 1268 comments Note: today's game is "a few of my favorite things".

message 289: by Jody (new)

Jody (jodybell) | 3477 comments The two books that I'm focusing on now both span a number of years. A Short History of Nearly Everything spans several billion 🤣, but I won't finish that soon enough (14 hours of audio left). I'll keep pushing with Schindler's List.

message 290: by Marie (UK) (last edited Jun 10, 2019 01:14PM) (new)

Marie (UK) (mazza1) | 484 comments The one I am reading now spans several years I will not finish it to keep fit that later bucket. On my way to real life book group catch up later

message 291: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) Did the game and posted in spreadsheet. Should finish a book that covers a span of years sometime today.

message 292: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments I finished the orange cover book, yay!

message 293: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (ashleym99) Issues at work so its taking a little longer to finish the purple but I will have it done by 6, in about 5 hours. I will probably finish it on my way home from work (it is an audiobook) and will update the book after dinner, as that will be the first opportunity I will have.

message 294: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sezziy) | 614 comments Do we still need a red cover? I'm about to finish Fallout?

message 295: by Jillian (new)

Jillian | 2881 comments Sarah wrote: "Do we still need a red cover? I'm about to finish Fallout?"

Yes, we still need red.

message 296: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (ashleym99) Yes, I think we do. If I were you I would put it on the spreadsheet.

message 297: by Jillian (new)

Jillian | 2881 comments I will check to see when Ashley or someone else posts purple. Then I will finish my sports book once I get home from work in about 5 hours. I'm going to get about 30 mins of reading in during lunch and should just have ~ 30 mins left.

message 298: by Jillian (new)

Jillian | 2881 comments Ashley wrote: "Yes, I think we do. If I were you I would put it on the spreadsheet."

We just put it on the spreadsheet once it is finished.

message 299: by Traci (new)

Traci (tracibartz) | 1268 comments Sarah wrote: "Do we still need a red cover? I'm about to finish Fallout?"

I was on a call, but see others have responded. We'd love Fallout for red! Even if you post on the spreadsheet, please post here as well, so everyone knows.

message 300: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) I am reading a book with a child as a main character. I am going to hold off finishing until we get to that bucket. It sounds like we have the next bucket already covered.
