What do you usually end up doing? Buying them, saving the title somewhere so you don't forget? For me I have been buying the lost books I forgotten about and making a collection of them.

I bought one or two; I found copies of most of the others online at The Internet Archive or elsewhere. The rest I never even intended to read again anyway; it was just driving me crazy that I couldn't remember the name.
I got most of them via interlibrary loan. Now I use the Internet Archive to find forgotten books and read them there.
The only one I've found again through this group was one I'd already read and didn't have any intention of reading again - I just wanted to add it to my shelves, and it was annoying me that I couldn't remember the title:https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

I tend to have a pretty good memory for books. Most of the ones I've searched for here have ended up being stored on my 'crap' shelves cause they were so bad. It's usually either just pieces of scenes or the general idea of the plot that I liked and it starts to bug me if I can't place it. Once it's found, I realise the actual book missed its potential (IMO) or was so badly written, I've wiped it from memory.
I usually just list them. A few of my youth faves I've ordered to give as gifts to the kids in my life, hopefully they've enjoyed them as much as I did
Bought them as an ebook, if possible, else looked for them used.So far my favorite found and read book was And to my nephew Albert I leave the Island what I won off Fatty Hagan in a poker game... . For a time even used it was too expensive for my taste (starting at Us$ 80), so I had to wait a few years for cheaper offer and paid with shipping (US to Germany) 22 Us$, later it was published as an ebook, bought it again.
Have another book found myself, where I paid for a book about books (children/teen books), may have found it, still not confirmed, ebook bought, not read yet. If it turns out not to be the right book, I will start a search here. It is The Little Broomstick, also filmed as a japanese anime (also bought that).
Another author I looked for to read the books again (read them as a teen in German translation) was found with a few searches and the name popped into my mind: Ian St. James .
Still have an open search here in this group, willing to pay even an unreasonable price for that when it is finally found.
