I am currently reading Wintering: The Power of Rest and Retreat in Difficult Times by Katherine May.
I just joined this group, so hello! :)I'm currently reading Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan. I'm almost done, and I absolutely loved it so far!
I just finished reading Son of a Trickster by Eden Robinson. I liked it. It’s a Canadian book about an indigenous boy living with his mother and her various boyfriends. The mom is addicted to alcohol and drugs the dad is also addicted to drugs. Through it all he does what he has to do to take care of his family. Like selling drugs in school. Until he starts seeing spirits and his world gets thrown for a loop.I read it as an ebook from my online library. If you don’t have an online library card I suggest you get one. If anyone else read this book what are your thoughts. I’ve seen mixed reviews here on Good Reads.
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue Just started reading this, and Im already hooked and mesmerized by Addie and her travels. V.E. Schwab
Just finished:
No One Will Miss Her

Somewhat far-fetched, but unpredictable and puzzling. My full
review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRueI'm currently reading "The Invisible Life of Addie Larue". I was stuck on it for a few weeks because I found it a bit slow, but I just got to a huge plot twist (made me cry) and now I can't put it down.
It's a super raw, emotional, and analytical book that everyone should try to read!!
I am reading Becoming Duchess Goldblatt. It was a gift from a friend. I never would have bought it. It is funny (I don’t like funny) and uplifting and SO sarcastic! The author is witty and I thoroughly am enjoying it. It’s a 5!
I just finished the an ARC of Love & Saffron: A Novel of Friendship, Food, and Love by Kim Fay which was a lovely book. Good one to read since the world is going crazier every day. Now I'm reading a mystery/thriller To Live and Die in the Floating World by Stephen Holgate which I'm enjoying because just when you think you know what's next, it's not.
Read of The Love Hypothesis from 1am to 4 am last night and finishing it today. Will be the first book i finish in one day this year
Finished an ARC of All the Queen's Men by S.J. Bennett which was just as good as the first one in the series, The Windsor Knot.
Just finishedArthur & George
(Loved it despite having read some lukewarm reviews. Although Julian Barnes could write about brushing teeth and I'd buy a hardback of it).
Currently reading:
The Republic of Thieves
And
Stories of Your Life and Others
Just reread Gone Girl by Gillian FlynnNow on:
The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck (sorry bout the cuss title) by Mark Manson
and
My Grandmother Sends Her Regards and Apologises by Fredrik Backman
Started a cozy mystery today, A Christmas Quilt to Die For by Gin Jones. She's actually ghostwriting this one.
Just finished:
The Pallbearers Club

Mind bender with plenty of dry humor. My full review:

Have dived into the latest book for my physical book club and its one that will undoubtedly get a lot of discussion going: To Keep the Sun Alive by Rabeah Ghaffari. It is a family saga told in two time periods: 1979 in Iran with the Iranian Revolution just around the corner, and readers are there to see the fractures in the family just as the country begins to tear apart; and 2012, with one of the family members now living in Paris.
Just finished:
The Golden Couple
by: Greer Hendricks
Hendricks and Pekkanen provide twisty suspense. My full review:

Haven't posted in awhile. Just finished The Iliad and now reading Grapes of Wrath. The Iliad was much better than expected.
I just started reading The Children's Blizzard by Melanie Benjamin. I've read two other historical fiction books by her which I really enjoyed and I am already enjoying this one. Such a good author, well researched and factual but because its fiction she makes it so interesting.
Really enjoyed Mark Mcgurl's Everything and Less.Next up Pat Mills's memoir on his heritage and how it informed his series Sláine.
I just finished two really good books. The Lions of Fifth Avenue and The Orphan Master's Son. About to start The Language of Threads. Trying to read from my own bookcases.
The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down: A Hmong Child, Her American Doctors, and the Collision of Two CulturesAnne F. is my favourite essayist and this is her first novel.
Try “Hollywood is Not Home” Good clean read with fun loving characters set in a Southern town with faith, family, and love.❤️🤗
Started listening to Rick Bragg's The Best Cook in the World: Tales from My Momma's Table. I've enjoyed his All Over But the Shoutin' and The Speckled Beauty: A Dog and His People.
Just finished:
The Night Shift
by Alex Finlay
Can a suspense thriller be too twisted? See my full review:

I just started Let's Pretend This Never Happened: A Mostly True Memoir which I think is Jenny Lawson's first book. I'm struggling to get into this one. Furiously Happy: A Funny Book About Horrible Things and Broken were easier to get into. The writing style is similar so I'm not sure why this one isn't grabbing me as much.
Just finished:
The Measure
by:Nikki Erlick
Intriguing premise from a debut novelist. My full review:

Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop TalkingCurrently reading Quiet By Susan Cain, So far I am really enjoying it. A great read for my fellow introverts.
Currently reading Pleasure for Pleasure and enjoying it more than I expected. I've also got a start on The Battle of Evernight mostly because Book 2 ended on a bit of a cliffhanger, and I didn't like the suspense.

"A Gentleman In Moscow is one of my favorites! I just finished The Lincoln Highway yesterday and loved it just as much! I didn't love Rules of Civility though -- but glad I read it!
New to the group here! I am currently finishing up Later by Stephen King and will soon start How to Stop Time. I loved The Midnight Library so I am so looking forward to another of Matt Haig's books!

I have both Rules of Civility and The Lincoln Highway on my TBR list.
I'm reading The Return of the King from the Lord of the Rings trilogy (which is really one long book). I just finished the Two Towers after reading The Fellowship of the Ring. It was long past time for me to read this classic and I have enjoyed the first two books. We all basically know the story, and I've been most surprised by the lyrical and elegant writing style of Tolkien.
All the best, Ken
