Questions/Problems in Completed Tasks

Task 20.9, option 1 requires that you include the cover when you post. Please repost including the cover.

Task 15.8 requires that the book you read have the MPG Mystery, Thriller, or Suspense as well as a portrait on the cover. At time of review, My Dearest Enemy does not include one of the required genres on its main page.

All completed task posts, including reposts, must contain a link to the book you read.

You've linked to a Kindle edition of The Guns of August. When determining the page count for an ebook, we use the most popular mass market paperback if there is one. The most popular mass market paperback is The Guns of August. At only 489 pages, the book does not qualify as a Big Book. If you read a different edition, please repost indicating that the post is to claim a Big Book and link to the edition you read.

Task 10.1 requires all of the letters in ROGUE to be found in the book's title and/or subtitle. There is no U in the title--Gather Together in My Name--and the book does not have a subtitle.

Task 15.8 requires that the book you read have the MPG Mystery, Thriller, or Suspense as well as a portrait on the cover. At time of review, Storm Cursed does not include one of the required genres on its main page.

It's fine to change your mind about which books you plan to use for which task, however, in addition to explaining in your post that you've already claimed points for the task and are moving a book to another task, you need to post task 25.6 with the new pairing. I need to see both books together, along with any required information (if there is any), in order to verify they work together for the task.
Until you repost 25.6 with your new book, I've remove the points for that task. The task you've moved the book to is posted correctly, so those points have been counted.

Your post is good now. No problems with the Big Book ticket. ;-)
But, just to clarify and maybe clear up some confusion, you are correct that the book you read and have linked to in this post is the most popular paperback. However, to determine pages for ebooks, we always start with the mass market paperback (or MMPB) and we only move to paperback (technically called trade paperbacks) when there is no MMPB. The most popular mass market paperback of the book you posted is: The Guns of August

Task 15.6 requires that you provide a link to where you found the author's birthdate if it is not stated on their Goodreads profile. Ken Follett's birthday is not listed on his profile. Please repost including the required information.

Based on the information you've given in your post, I believe you meant to claim task 25.6, not 25.5. No need to repost, just check your records to make sure you have the correct task number recorded.

Based on the information you've given in your post, I believe you meant to claim task 30.2, not 30.9 (which you've already claimed). No need to repost, just check your records to make sure you have the correct task number recorded.

Welcome to the challenge, Enid! To claim a task in Completed Tasks, you must include a link to the book edition you read. You can find out how to do this in #3 of the Challenge Posting Requirements. When you've finished reading those, please follow the directions at the bottom (Requirements for Reposts) to repost your task.

Task 20.7 requires that the book you read have a MPG that matches the number you rolled. You rolled a 3. Your genres are: YOUNG ADULT or NEW ADULT, which means the book you read must have one of those MPG.
At time of review, Ordinary People had the following MPGs:
GENRES
Fiction 93 users
Contemporary 33 users

Third line of text "Born on June 5th, 1949 in Cardiff, Wales"

Thanks, Diane. I didn't look down that far. It's usually right under "Born." ;-)

Task 5.3 requires a book title that begins with an R or C. A Crafter Hooks a Killer begins with an A.

20-point tasks are one book tasks. I've counted your points for 20.6 using The Hungry Ghost. If you'd rather use The Circular Staircase, please repost this task with that book, clearly stating that you'd rather use that one for the task. If you're okay with using The Hungry Ghost for 20.6, you don't need to do anything for this task and you're free to use The Circular Staircase for another task.

Fixed! Sorry about that, Tammy. Your corrected total will show up in the next Readerboard update.

Task 15.4, book 2 requires a book that was first published in July. War and Turpentine was first published on September 2nd 2013.

Never Let Me Go does not have a clear print edition. The one you've linked to does not note the format as being mass market paperback, paperback, or hardback. This issue needs to be resolved before you repost your task for points. You can do this by asking a Goodreads librarian to research the book and amend the book's details for you. Ask here: anyone with librarian status....

I notice the Readerboard has been updated to post 1300 and my readerboard name and points aren't listed. I haven't participated in the challenge in several years, but I checked and my Readerboard name is still on the master list. My posts for this challenge are comments #1291, 1293 - 1297. My total points are 115. Thanks!

Sorry! You're on the spreadsheet but I didn't copy the formulas correctly so your points didn't show up. They'll be there in the next update. Thanks for the heads up!

Task 20.1, option 2 requires that the relationship between the protagonist and the personal nemesis or recurring villain be established in more than one book/work. The Unhoneymooners does not appear to be part of a series. So, in what other work do Olive and Ethan appear as enemies?

Task 10.7 requires the genre Fairy Tales to be found on the book's main page genre list. At time of review, these are the genres on Scarlet's main page:
GENRES
Young Adult 6,547 users
Fantasy 5,694 users
Science Fiction 3,664 users
Romance 2,122 users
If you go the genre pre-approved in the task help thread or in the MPG verification thread, please repost with a link to the pre-approval.

The edition of Rise to Rebellion: A Novel of the American Revolution cannot be used for a BB ticket because it is not identified as being in a print format and the most popular paperback and hardback editions are under 500 pages. If you read an edition that is over 500 pages, you will need to have the formatting issue resolved before you repost for a Big Book ticket. You can do this by asking a Goodreads librarian to research the book and amend the book's details for you. Ask here: anyone with librarian status....

The edition of Crêpe Expectations you've linked to is not a paperback, it's an ebook with an ASIN. It needs to be verified for length in the ebook verification thread unless there's another GRs record for the paperback edition of this book.

It's no big deal-sorry I did not notice that. I will change my BB's back to 2

Fixed! Your corrected total will show up in the next update.

Task 15.9 requires that the word in the book's title and the word in the lyrics match exactly. The only occurrence of THAT in the lyrics is here: It turned colder; that's where it ends. To use this lyric, the book's title must include the word That's, with the apostrophe s.

Our totals have gotten off somewhere. Here's what I have recorded for you:
5.2, 5.8
10.4, 10.8
15.1, 15.2, 15.4, 15.9
20.1, 20.2, 20.6, 20.7, 20.9
25.2, 25.3, 25.4
30.1, 30.4, 30.7, 30.8, 30.9
For a total of 415. When you get a chance, please check your records and let me know if I've missed something. Thanks!

You must provide a link to the book that you've read in order to earn points in the SRC. See message 66 above.

Re task 15.2, book 2: I can't find The Second Life of Nick Mason on Anti-Heroines list. Am I missing it?

The edition of Still Alice you've linked to has only 292 pages, causing you to fall short of the required 600 pages for Task 30.9. If you read a different edition, please repost your task, in its entirety, with a link to the edition you read.

Book 2 must be on the Anti-Heroines list, not the The Best Antiheroes one.

I wasn't that thoughtful. I will find a new book. Thanks!

At time of review, Kinder verstehen: Born to be wild: Wie die Evolution unsere Kinder prägt - Mit einem Vorwort von Remo Largo had the MPG Childrens:
GENRES

Nonfiction 3 users
Childrens 2 users
This appears to be a parenting book. If that is the case, you can ask in the Not Really a Children's Book thread to have the genre overridden. Once that is done, you can repost your task, in its entirety, including a link to the message where the Childrens genre is negated.

Task 20.10 requires that you participate in the book's discussion thread with at least one post about the contents of the book or your reaction to the book after you have read the book.

We have several Jackies in the SRC. Please repost your task with your Readerboard name at the top of your post.
