Thin Air by Michelle PaverDead Lake by Darcy Coates
Cuckoo Song by Frances Hardinge
(Last one is not strictly horror, more YA fantasy/horror, but hey, it scared me and her writing is gorgeous.)
I need to read a lot more from women in this genre so I'm looking forward to other answers!
Brother - Ania Ahlborn Come Closer - Sara Gran
The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein - Kiersten White
And Her Smile will Untether the Universe by Gwendolyn KisteGeek Love By Katherine Dunn
The Bloody Chamber by Angela Carter
And just cuz I can LOL
Everything that's Underneath by Kristi DeMeester
The Loosening Skin by Aliya WhiteleyThe Rust Maidens by Gwendolyn Kiste
All the Fabulous Beasts by Priya Sharma
Wylding Hall by Elizabeth Hand, And the Cass Neary Series by Elizabeth Hand (Sorry, that's four, since the series is three books so far. But Elizabeth Hand is one of my favorite authors of all authors--male & female.)

The Rust Maidens was one of my favorite reads in 2018.
The Haunting of Hill House - Shirley JacksonInterview with a Vampire - Anne Rice
My Life As A White Trash Zombie - Diana Rowland
Although none of these actually terrified me, they are all in the horror genre and I love them!
GEEK LOVE by Katherine DunnTHE RUST MAIDENS by Gwendolyne Kiste
OUT by Natsuo Kirino (heavy on the crime but it's so horrific I feel it fits)
I'm all about not breaking them in gently, lol.
The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley JacksonThe Winter People by Jennifer McMahon
Come Closer by Sara Gran
Ice Massacre by Tiana WarnerA Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray
A Head Full of Ghosts by Paul Tremblay
The first two aren't horror but they're my faves

I can't read it often enough--I find something "new" or "forgotten/unconnected" each time.

Another vote for Wylding HallDark Matter - Michelle Paver
Not sure about a third. Through the Woods by Emily Carroll (graphic novel/ short stories) disturbed me recently

I loved Through the Woods. I recently bought the hardback.

I hadn't even thought about OUT being a horror but it definitely is! That was an intense book.

Another vote for Dark Matter by Michelle PaverWe Have Always Lived In The Castley by Shirley Jackson
Don't Look Now by Daphne du Maurier (novella but still!)
I too loved Dark Matter and Michelle Paver's more recent book Wakenhyrst was also very good.I enjoyed The Girl from the Well by Rin Chupeco, it was a refreshing take on the "long haired Japanese ghost" trope.
I just finished reading The Luminous Dead by Caitlin Starling and really liked it. Ever since I saw the film The Descent I've been waiting for a really good caving horror novel, and this one had lesbians in it, which made it even better.

Following this thread is wrecking my TBR list, haha. (But seriously, thank you, this looks great!)

I don't suppose you can recommend anything similar to Through The Woods? It's a long shot because it seems so unique, but I'd love to read something else like that.

I know that she has a new graphic novel coming out. The Bloody Chamber was fantastic. It wasn't a graphic novel but it in the horror and fairytale realm.
