Julie | 3 comments I know, I know. I will sound like that person so please bare with me. There's a book I read many, many years ago (like- maybe the 90's?) that popped into my head for a re-read the last month and for the life of me I can't get it out of my head and can't remember the name or author. If I see the cover, I will know it's right. I have googled it a million different ways and can't find it. If you care to take this challenge and don't care if the end is spoiled, please keep reading.

The book was a murdery/horror-ish book. The plot summary is that Mom, kids and au pair go to the beach for the summer. Dad is working but commutes on the weekend. Dad is having an affair (maybe with the au pair) and mom is unraveling, haunted by visions of murders years ago in the house. Flash forward- there's a big summer storm and Mom goes on a murder spree and kills almost everyone. The thing that triggered this memory for me and I can't get out of my brain is that the lullaby "Lavender Blue (Dilly Dilly) is prominent in both the flashback scenes and in Mom's murder spree. I had never heard it before this book and heard it on a tv show last month and have been searching since.

Do any of you remember this book?

Julie, please put some of those plot details into your header/title. This could help your query get solved faster. You can put any plot details in the header as long as it's not spoilers.

Ayshe | 4721 comments Disturb Not The Dream maybe? The "Sweet Afton" lullaby seems to have some importance there.

Justanotherbiblophile | 1814 comments You can mark the request as solved by clicking the 'edit' link next to the subject line / title, and then selecting one of the "Solved" folders. This will help save our moderators some time.

You should also change the subject line / title to start "SOLVED: [then your existing subject line/title of your post]" which helps people still find your request later.

Solved requests are almost as important as unsolved requests (eg, eg, so don't delete your info :D Otherwise it looks like this, which completely doesn't show how you generated *so* much interest for your book). The requests continue to exist in the archive, and people looking for your book end up on that page via search engine because of your description/keywords - which improves the whole world :)
