SOLVED. Short Stories about children who can morph into other humans? [s]

Firstly, I know that this series isn't Animorphs because in the books I'm thinking of the children could only morph into other HUMANS. I can't remember much of it, just images that were conjured from reading it. One particular story I remember reading was a young girl, with freckles and red hair and glasses who hated her appearance and wanted to desperately turn into her friend, (Molly, I think her friends name was? Maybe that was the girls name) and she wished and wished and wished and it didn't work, then something happened and she morphed into her friend. I remember images, I think they were in a theatre at some point? Fighting bad guys? And I think there was a scene where her and her friend were walking and a black car was following them?

It's really bugging me that I can't remember it because I used to adore the series.
