I can't imagine 6 weeks to 3 months!! I start to lose it after 5 weeks. :) Glad you were safe!

After snooping a bit, I think Team 11: Klogs has all of their stamps and several sets of 3 in a row but several groups are at 3 in a row as well. Still anyone's game!

Congratulations 10 More Minutes on completing your Suspense/Thriller Shelf.

This was ok. Didn't wow me and I'm glad it was a freebie. It's one of those books that while I didn't hate it, if the I didn't have the rest of the series already from Kindle freebies, I might not read more of the series. The writing wasn't bad, I just didn't care for the main character all that much. She has no reason whatsoever to investigate this murder. None. She gets fired from her job at a coffee shop and then randomly acquires a dog and then feels like she's qualified to be a professional dog walker. She buys someone's dog walking route. She finds a client murdered in the alley on her first day. She's never met the guy or even talked to him on the phone. His wife is super rude to her and yet she feels the need to investigate his death, prove his wife's innocence and to find the missing woman who sold her the dog route. Again, someone she barely knew. Who does that? So not very realistic. In real life she would have been quickly dismissed as not even a material witness with the police maybe asking her a few times to recall how she ended up buying the dog route and finding the body. So there was no need to prove her own innocence.
Congratulations 10 More Minutes on completing your Fantasy/PNR/UF.

Review: This was a fun book with lots of quirky characters. Callie Grey is a PR rep who has been in love with her boss forever. She thinks things are finally going somewhere with him after their wild weekend in New Mexico, so she's shocked to learn he has a new girlfriend who is joining their firm. Trying to move on, Callie sets her sights on the new town veterinarian, Ian McFarland. Callie and her dog, Bowie, make an appointment to visit Ian and find out she's not the only single woman in town with this idea. And Ian is not happy about that - he's a grouchy guy who just wants to be left alone, with his dog Angie. (I loved how Callie would sing the Rolling Stone's song, Angie, every time she met up with the pup!) Events keep putting Callie and Ian in each other's orbit, and they start hanging out and then dating. I loved the cast of characters in this book - Callie's man-hating sister; her mortuary-owning parents and their creepy employee, Lewis; her crotchety grandfather, Noah; her sleezy boss, Mark; Ian's mean aunt, Jane; his ex-wife; the pups and the turkey and many others! I also really liked Callie's sunny disposition - at first it was a bit annoying, but over time she really grew on me and I sure wish I could have her resiliency!

I read the first three in this series and then quit ... they become progressively more violent.

Ugh, I'm sorry to hear this. The first one was doable but I don't want more. Thanks for the info! I guess the others in the series [that I already own] will be sitting for a long while...

Good to hear that you're ok!

Your review has me double tempted to try this one out... I had just, coincidentally, read another review of it this week. Though I've long ago drifted over to cozies, I still enjoy a really good romance now and again.
And I'm glad to hear that you were far removed from that earthquake and it's aftermath!

If you like mysteries and quirky characters I would highly recommend One For The Money by Janet Evanovich. Loved it when I first read it way back when, and I re-read it every couple of years.
Hmm, I hope fiction is acceptable for this category, cuz that's probably the direction that I'm going...

Review: This honestly wasn’t one of my favorite books by this author but I still enjoyed it. It was very suspenseful and imaginative. Amy Redwing has dedicated her life to rescuing golden retrievers but when she saves Nicki from an abusive situation, she knows this dog is special. She just didn’t realize how special and how big an impact she’s have.

Review: Arthur Dent is having a bad day. He awakens to bulldozers trying to demolish his house. Unknown to him, one of his friend's is an alien and has more bad news. The Earth is about to be demolished. They escape to space just in time and continue on an improbable journey. The book is quirky and fun and I have no idea why it took me so long to read. I do recommend.

😀

Cool, happy you found a good one!

Review: When Cherry Tucker hears that the wealthiest family in town wants a portrait painted of their wild (and now dead) son, she grabs her portfolio and heads to the funeral parlor to bid for the job. She so badly needs the fee for the painting. The only catch is that they want a coffin portrait! But Cherry jumps right in with both feet. And unwittingly gets involved with looking into the victim's murder, resulting with the killer gunning for her at the end of it. Mixed into the action are funny redneck truths, a crazy goat, and lively side characters, making this one good, fast read.

eta: Score! Hoopla has it so I am good to go.

Review: I'm so happy I loved this book!!! I adored the Beautiful Bastard and Wild Seasons series, and the snark and bickering between the two MC's in the book brought me back. Olive Torres and her sister Ami are identical twins, but their identical-ness ends at how they look. Ami is a positive person and has the best luck. For Olive, on the other hand, if it can go wrong it will go wrong. She's lost her job and is forced to endure her sister's wedding with the groom's brother, who she despises. When the wedding party all get violently ill, except for Olive and Ethan, the two pose as the newlyweds and on their honeymoon to Maui. And as Olive and Ethan start to spend time together, they realize neither is as bad as the other one thought they were. I loved Olive and Ethan! This book was fun, although a bit sad at times - lots of typical CL goofiness, love, humor and some more serious stuff.
