SOLVED. Book in which a girl tries to solve a mystery and hides her notes in her bra. [s]

Unfortunately I remember very little about this book except that the main character is a girl who I think is staying at a relative's mansion when something happens (not sure if another character dies or something else happened) that turns into a mystery she tries to solve. There are a number of other guests there. (Almost feels like a murder mystery game party, but in the book it's the real plot).

I only remember one scene: at one point the girl is back in her room, and she has a bunch of notes she had made in trying to solve the mystery. But she's afraid to leave them in her room in case the culprit snoops and finds them. So she folds up the papers and stuffs them in her bra, but then looks in the mirror and decides that it looks obviously lopsided and people will notice, so she divides the notes into two piles to stuff evenly.

I can't remember when I read it, but very likely in the late 90s or early 2000s.

I don't remember anything about the cover unfortunately. I don't think it was part of a series. I think time period was present day/modern, and location is somewhere in the US.
