It doesn't have an illustrator listed so that's a good first sign. I'll take a look at the tags and the lists too to see if it's on any that list it as illustrated.

If your book has an illustrator listed (It does not) or is tagged 'illustrated', (It doesn't appear to be I went through several pages) then it will fall into this category. This includes books such as The Spiderwick Chronicles, A Series of Unfortunate Events, books by Roald Dahl, Doll Bones, Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children Series, A Monster Calls, The Little Prince, and Charlotte's Web to name a few.

What happenes if I joined a BR but my buddy didn't join? Will it count me the br points and if not, can I use the comments in the thread as status updates or should I write a separate review?

If you are buddy reading a book, and your reading buddy does not turn up, your buddy read will still count as long as you are reading your book in the buddy reading window (7 days before to 14 days after the start date) and you make 4 detailed comments on the buddy read thread.

Hi Fany, your buddy read will still count if you had a buddy when the buddy read was planned. Your comments on the thread must be different to your status updates though, if they're the same then we won't be able to give you the buddy read points x

This only applies when a buddy hasn't turned up. If we believe someone is starting threads and claiming buddy read points when they never had a buddy to begin with, then it's one warning, and then they're banned from taking part in the challenges for 6 months x

For the tasks involving something on the cover, am I right in thinking that you can use another edition than the one you're reading, and then you can use another edition for page points?

Hi Ashleigh, Bookbuyer is right, you can use a different edition to complete the description, just link to the edition you're using for the cover (unless it's the main edition), and then link an edition for pages as normal ☺

Quick Question: I'm starting Bright Lights, Dark Nights by Stephen Emond, and it has pictures in it. I can only count it for page points, right?

*Descriptions cannot be completed using children's books, middle-grade books, poetry, illustrated books, plays, graphic novels, non-fiction books (including autobiographies), books with less than 200 pages, or books started before June.

*Books which don't meet these criteria can still be used for page points and buddy read points as usual, they just can't be used to complete descriptions.
