re 179, goodreads policy is to keep all published covers because users like to shelve the edition that matches the one they own. Instead, we create alternate cover editions (ACEs), and you as the author have the ability to set the new cover as the default edition, which is what appears on your author profile and in search results.For your first book, I created an ACE for you here with the cover currently available at Smashwords:

For your second book, the edition you had on Goodreads for the paperback (you had it marked as kindle; i fixed it). There was no kindle edition on Goodreads, so I added it here with the cover that is currently available on Amazon:

If you have updated the cover for that book (but it's not yet on AMazon), you'll need to create an ACE with the new cover or ask a librarian to do it for you. Just provide a link to the cover image.

Hello, I have a question about deleting before I have you to it. I added 3 editions of my book yesterday by accident. It's not out yet, and won't be out until December, so there should only be one edition. HOWEVER, I'm worried if I have you delete the other editions, it will delete some of the adds?? Can you answer this question for me? Here is my book, but as I said, I want to make sure I won't lose my adds before you delete?Thanks so much!

Well if it isn't removed then she is likely to lose the contract she has been told to remove all content from the internet before discussions, the title may well change too!! Surely an author should be able to say if a book should stay on or not!???!!She is already frustrated that she has no control over her own content on Goodreads, this will flip her out!!
This is a book cataloging site NOT a bookseller, users shelve the books with the cover they bought and read in order to maintain a list of books they have read over time. Users do not expect the covers on the books they have shelved to change.If you cannot work out how to set the default edition, then contact GR Support using the contact us form on the help page and request that they set the default edition.
In addition, any user can add a book to the site not just authors

You can contact GR Support as only a GR Employee will action as since rivka is an employee and she will need to discuss with them

I think maybe the wrong cover was put on there by error, so I went and changed the kindle edition to the same one on Amazon. Z-squared added the kindle edition according to her note (#180) but it looks like she used the paperback version's cover. Please let me know if I'm wrong.

I will advise the author to contact GR Support as this isn't my argument to be in the middle of. I was asked by an author to make a reasonable request and don't agree with the reasons for refusing it. This request system is messy and unprofessional. Authors are constantly complaining about Goodreads not being author friendly and I can see why. I'm getting tired of defending it.

That was not the paperback cover image, it was the one on the kindle page. At the time I created the record, the previous image WAS what was available on Amazon; I suspect the author had just uploaded a new cover, and the new cover hadn't made it onto the sale page yet. What you've replaced it with is the new cover. It should be an ACE, but as the author is (probably?) in the midst of contacting support over this, I'm going to leave it alone.
