Karlo | 12 comments Hi, everyone! Can someone (superlibrarians probably) check if I have done something incorrectly?
There was a Croatian translation of a book by Józef Maria Bocheński, translated as "Uvod u filozofsko mišljenje" and its duplicate, but under a different transcription of author's name. Since the latter version of a name was incorrect and had only that book, and the first one had a lot, I wanted to harmonize things so i first corrected the wrong spelling of a name so they could be combined (both were without any other editions), then combined them, etc. - I think I've followed the rules of merging, but I can't tell have those 4-5 people who rated or wanted to read now deleted duplicate been transferred to the remaining version. I've done merging before and everything was o.k., just to make it clear. This is the book: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

I just want to be sure that book isn't deleted from the shelves of those people. Thanks in advance!

Karlo | 12 comments No, there was no error, but it seemed to me - when I looked at the number of people that added both versions - there should have been a sum of 8-10 people because both books had around 4-5 people and when I merged there was still a number around five (before combining to English edition; now there are more people, of course) - I really don't know, that's the reason why I'm asking.

#60 - Tracking down a target to merge now. Done

#67 - Complicated one there. Debating what to merge it into. Looks like a few Franco Zeffirelli DVDs have made it on as they have ISBNs (even Worldcat is confused...). I am working on this, but Shakespeare is huge and combines/separates take a while...

#68 - No adds, deleted. In future, however, please can you link both the duplicate and the original as we would normally need to merge it into another edition.

The first one is the correct edition, with the most complete details, and the following ISBN-13: 9789898657756. I believe the second one was mistakenly created by someone who used the first 10 digits of ISBN-13 in the field ISBN.

Those all look like NAB items. If they have no shelvings, you can use the Mark as "not a book." link on their edit page. If they have been shelved, that link won't be there; just manually edit the primary author to be NOT A BOOK (and remove any secondary authors).

No, it's because the first book contains the wrong data, Ediciones UDP didn't publish that book in 1997, Cuadernos Atenea did it, and I wanted to change the ISBN to this edition: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

87 Wrong data are not a reason to delete books, as we can edit data. And an ISBN is sometimes used for more than one edition. It seems you have deleted a valid edition.

88-92 done

93 That are valid editions.

94-96 done

97 That are both valid editions, although the first needs some edits.

Looks like the Kindle editions were imported. I've combined them.
