Thomas Ray (worleythom) | 221 comments Trivia questions are user content, just as are reviews. If you wouldn't change a user's review, don't change user content in question form either.

Emily | 17610 comments If you have a concern about a librarian edit, you should flag it or contact Support via the help tab at the bottom of the page. Calling out others is not allowed in the group and your post will be deleted.

Thomas Ray (worleythom) | 221 comments Done. In the past I've received no response to a flag of a librarian damaging my work.

My name is on my user content. It should not be edited without my permission.

Emily | 17610 comments Please delete the user name and link from your original post.
The members of this group are not employees of Goodreads, so you should write to Support with concerns about policy.

lethe | 16359 comments Librarians can change trivia questions??

message 6: by Thomas Ray (new)

Thomas Ray (worleythom) | 221 comments Yes unfortunately they can and do, despite goodreads' claim librarians don't edit user content. Yes they do, and have been at it quite a bit lately.

message 7: by Thomas Ray (new)

Thomas Ray (worleythom) | 221 comments The librarian whose name I was asked to remove has edited over 11,000 and going strong.

message 8: by Emily (new)

Emily | 17610 comments This is not something we can address. Please write to support if you have more comments.

message 9: by Thomas Ray (new)

Thomas Ray (worleythom) | 221 comments Done. Waiting for response. In past, deafening silence.

message 10: by lethe (last edited May 04, 2019 11:50AM) (new)

lethe | 16359 comments I didn't know until now that librarians can edit trivia questions, but I can imagine a trivia question may be edited if it contains incorrect info or spoilers, just as librarians may correct book descriptions containing irrelevant info or praise quotes.

message 11: by Thomas Ray (new)

Thomas Ray (worleythom) | 221 comments No, I've had at least one question changed from right to wrong by a librarian. The user is not consulted, does not know it was changed unless he happens to notice it later. The librarians are changing questions on which they have not read the books. This is user content, just as reviews are. It should never be changed except with the user's approval.

Elizabeth (Alaska) How do you know which librarian made the changes?

message 13: by Thomas Ray (new)

Thomas Ray (worleythom) | 221 comments There's an "edit history" link--gives perpetrator's name, but no longer details what they did.

Correct. This group is not the place for complaining about other users' edits. Closing thread.
