SOLVED. Childrens picture book about a teddy that keeps having to be sewn back together. [s]

I read this book to my daughter ( at a play group) around 2003 ish. It didn't seem that old- ie the illustrations were contemporary so may have been published from 1990 onwards?
it started with a child playing in the back garden with their fave teddy- neighbour's child took a fancy...tug of war- leg comes off- Mum sews back over night. each day something else falls off and needs Mum/Teddy doctor to sew back on. that's all I can remember. I would love to find out the book's name so that I can try and buy it for up coming birthday . Thanks for any help

I found one that is similar but I don't know if there is a tug-of-war with the neighbor's kid... It's called My Old Teddy by Dom Mansell (I think it was published in 1992).
