Megan (lahairoi) | 7470 comments Just completed #3 (actions restricted) - Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. I really enjoyed the author's descriptions of nature and how connected the main character was with her marsh. I liked how the chapters bounced back and forth between current time and the past. I found some of the story a bit far-fetched. Definitely worth reading. 4 stars

Juzie Quinn Moore (juziepoo) | 1 comments ahww man, :( i wish i'd seen this sooner! i've already picked up a pretty large book for June, maybe next month....that would be great for me because im going on a road trip, so i'll knock out most books while riding. ;)

Megan (lahairoi) | 7470 comments Just completed #4 (hairstyle on cover) - Between a Heart and a Rock Place: A Memoir by Pat Benatar. I really enjoyed learning about Pat Benatar, her career, and the rock industry that she helped change forever. I was not a big fan of the writing, but the information included, her views, and the description of her relationship with Neil Giraldo were definitely worth it. Worth reading. 3.5 stars

Megan (lahairoi) | 7470 comments Just completed #9 (style in title) - The Mysterious Affair at Styles by Agatha Christie. It is utterly insane to me that this was Agatha Christie's first novel! While it's not as tightly worded and nuanced as her later works, the basics of genius are still present. She was amazing! Definitely worth reading! 4 stars

Megan (lahairoi) | 7470 comments Just completed #7 (accessory on cover - head scarf) - The Favored Daughter: One Woman's Fight to Lead Afghanistan into the Future by Fawzia Koofi. What an amazing, inspiring woman! The book is written well, and I particularly like the letters to her daughters at the end of each chapter. If she can survive assassins, taliban, tribal fighters, and incredible loss and still strive to fight for her country and her beliefs, then I can do my bit for mine. Definitely worth reading! 4.5 stars

Megan (lahairoi) | 7470 comments Just completed #1 (epistolary) - The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer. I loved this book! I want to be friends with everyone in the book (except Adelaide), and I have added the Channel Islands to my list of places that I must see soon. It's so fascinating to me that an author can so firmly establish multiple characters in different voices, and this is done so well through letters, telegrams, and journal notes. Definitely worth reading! 5 stars

Megan (lahairoi) | 7470 comments Just completed #10 (text speak) - Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon. I really enjoy Yoon's writing style, and she captures teenagers very well. This book verged a bit too far in the teen angsty for me in the middle, but then it took a hard turn and got super interesting again. I wish the ending was a bit more concrete, but it's still a good read! Definitely worth reading! 4 stars
