But otherwise, SRC rules would consider it two words.

is it ok?"
Yes to both choices
Is it possible to use The Beast in Him for Option 2, because "THE" doesn't count?Choose a book with a three word title. Two restrictions apply: the first word of the title may NOT be "The" or "A" AND the book may NOT have a subtitle.
Thanks
Macrowolf,The book you have chosen has four words in the title, not three so it cannot be used for this reason

MacWolf01, you did note that the restriction says the FIRST word of the title cannot be either "the" or "a", did you not? It is not that they are discounted, per se. All words count.
Option 2 - Can I read Die For Me: A Novel of the Valentine Killer - Cynthia Eden?Option 1 - Heaven Calls for an Angel: A True Story of Childhood Cancer - Michelle Diana Lowe?
Fiona (Titch) wrote: "Option 2 - Can I read Die For Me: A Novel of the Valentine Killer - Cynthia Eden?Option 1 - [book:Heaven Calls for an Angel: A True Story of Childhood Cancer|20716..."
Option 1 works because the author uses her middle name, but Option 2 does not because subtitles are not allowed. as stated "AND the book may NOT have a subtitle." but you could use it for the option referring to page numbers because it is over 333 pages
I was wondering if hyphenated names count. I would like to read 2 A.M. At The Cat's Pajamas by Marie-Helene Bertino
Cindy wrote: "I was wondering if hyphenated names count. I would like to read 2 A.M. At The Cat's Pajamas by Marie-Helene Bertino"I'm going to say no because usually hyphenated names are read as one word, and there are plenty of choices in this task that it should be easy to find something else you like that would fit.
Before I post, I would like to confirm that having a genre of "young adult" or "young adult > teen" is OK. There are no "children's" or "kids" genres listed.

Fiona (Titch) wrote: "Can I read Gods Without Men for Option 4?"Yes, it also works for a three word title
Does Salaatinvihreä rakastajatar ja runoja muista kokoelmista by Per-Hakon Påwals work for Option 1?
Katariina wrote: "Does Salaatinvihreä rakastajatar ja runoja muista kokoelmista by Per-Hakon Påwals work for Option 1?"I don't think so because usually hyphenated names are taken as one word, but feel free to ask a moderator for their opinion. They know the rules much better than I do.

Well, I agree with you. I just wanted to get the official opinion. :)

Yep, hyphenated names are counted as one word.

♥Robin ♥ wrote: "Hi Andy! I would just like to confirm that I'm Not Her would work for option 2. Thanks :)"Hi Robin,
I think that your title is ok, but you might want to get an official judgement from a moderator. I think the rule is that I'm is treated as one word, but I could be wrong.

Thanks Andy. I sent a message to Dlmrose to please verify the rule and/or approve the book.
Hi Andy,I got a response back from Dlmrose:
Yes, contractions are one word. If that's ok with Andy, it's ok within the SRC rules
So as long as you give me the ok I am good to go.
Thanks a million :)

(1993)Yes this book will work. Love this series Westlake was a terrific writer. He had a much different view of the world than most of us.
Enjoy,

Hi, I was wondering if Daphne du Maurier counts as a three-word name? "Du" isn't capitalised, so I'm not sure if "du Maurier" counts as one name or two.
LouLouReads wrote: "Hi, I was wondering if Daphne du Maurier counts as a three-word name? "Du" isn't capitalised, so I'm not sure if "du Maurier" counts as one name or two."I think it is considered one word, but you might check with a moderator to be sure.
So for option 3 I could do Love Walked In and option 4 I could do The Good Spy: The Life and Death of Robert Ames which is 430 pp, well over 333?
for option 3 you need a book published in a year ending in a 3 Love Walked in was originally published in 2005 so it won't work, Your other choice is fine

For the first one you might check with the moderators to make sure St. John counts as one word.
