Yes a major scientific event. Amazingly he had developed his 1905 Special (limited) theory into the General theory (which includes gravity) in that short time.

For the first time ever, hardware designed on the ground has been emailed to space to meet the needs of an astronaut. From a computer in California, Mike Chen of Made In Space and colleagues just 3D-printed a ratcheting socket wrench on the International Space Station.

I am not a believer in astrology, but the total variation in the brightness of the moon could have a psychological effect.
