Bernard Smith | 3030 comments I did not spot any planets, due to clouds, but it is nice to know they are there, looking down on us.

Bernard Smith | 3030 comments Can the eternal question ever be answered? But it is an interesting site, which seems to contain much wisdom.

Oh dear! He meant well. Being a romantic is one thing, but being a hopeless one is not wise.

Bernard Smith | 3030 comments Cupid

He takes his aim,
His arrow flies
Tearing through the fabric
Of the skies.

Down it shoots
His sharpened dart,
And strikes his target
In the heart.

Not hopeless just wise

Tell us something we don't know

message 1118: by Bernard (new)

Bernard Smith | 3030 comments I will try, but I realise that there are not many things that members do not know.

Not yet there isn't. What they have found is a weak radio/microwave signal that they assign to phosphine. This is quite remarkable because phosphine should react with the known sulphuric acid in the atmosphere.

message 1140: by Ian (new)

Ian Miller | 269 comments Why do you think it is illogical to have emotion? I think it is quite logical to wish to be happy.

message 1141: by Bernard (new)

Bernard Smith | 3030 comments It was meant as a jest Ian. Of course the relationship between emotions and rationality is complex. As Egon says: "I am terrified beyond the capacity for rational thought."

message 1142: by Ian (new)

Ian Miller | 269 comments Of course I knew it was a jest, Bernard, but I get a little tired of Vulcans on Star Trek
