I don't even bother looking back to see if Kamiko is following me. Julane and Mae seem intent on finding Brook and Dylan, and they haven't noticed me. Which is a good thing.

We enter the house as quietly as possible. Wouldn't want to get our heads chopped off by them. Suddenly, I hear a noise. "Watch out!," I shout, and I duck. Something come barreling through the air right where my head was.
I duck, trying to grab the object as it flies past us. But it's too fast. And it seems to be circling around for another attack. "Hide somewhere! Anywhere where this thing can't fly!" I yell and dive to the side.
I pull Tyri out of the way a second before the woman throws a dart.
Kamiko smirks. "I am so glad I came. I just knew you sissies wouldn't be able to do anything on your own."
We glare at her. "We are just as strong as you, despite what you seem to believe."
That is when the woman hits her in the chest with the flying object.
Kamiko flips backwords and falls to the ground.
"Oof!" she lies there. "Okay," she says weakly. "Point taken."
Kamiko smirks. "I am so glad I came. I just knew you sissies wouldn't be able to do anything on your own."
We glare at her. "We are just as strong as you, despite what you seem to believe."
That is when the woman hits her in the chest with the flying object.
Kamiko flips backwords and falls to the ground.
"Oof!" she lies there. "Okay," she says weakly. "Point taken."

Suddenly, I hear voices.
"There's Em!" I say, momentarily forgetting Kamiko. "We should take advantage of Brook's distraction and go get her over here!"
((Wait who's Salifia? I thought you were Brook????????)))

I then spot Em, lying on the floor.
I rush towards her.
"What's wrong?"
"My a-ankle." she winces.
I look down, and fight hard not to gasp. The foot is twisted at an angle impossibly bent. "Uh... I..." I mumble. "It's not too bad." I lie between my teeth. I know that Brook could easily mend it, but I see her fighting the woman.
"Okay." I say bracingly. This will hurt for a second, but I need to pop it into place."
She nods, and silent tears run down her face. "Do it." she mumbles through gritted teeth, bracing herself.
"Three." I say. "Two. One." I push, hard, and feel the foot twist around. Em screams in agony, but then is quieter.

"Er, ya know, kinda was slammed with a boomerang, but nah, it's just fine." Kamiko says sarcastically.
I grin, knowing she's back to her normal self.
"Did you break anything?" I ask.
She shakes her head. "Just knocked the wind out of me. And my pride."
That's when Brook, Dylan, and the woman emerge again. Brook has gotten out a sharp sword, and they duel.

"'Crap' is an understatement." I says, examining Em's wound. "You got a good injury here, but it just needs rest and you probably should ice it." I observe, thinking of were on Earth we are gonna get ice. I look up to see Em and Indigo's waiting eyes. "Oh! Right right. I have the ice powers. Right." I blush. I trace my finger over Em's ankle, and ice grows into a small cast. I smile weakly. "Sorry."
"S'fine." Ruby smiles weakly. Kamiko is up again.
"Guys." I say. "One of us needs to help Brook and Dylan!"
"I'll go." Kamiko says.
"No, Kamiko, you need to rest-" Mae begins, but Kamiko snorts.
"No offense, seriously, but I think I would help than better with an injury than you two without one. And Ruby need you two." she adds.
"But-" Mae begins, looking at me for support.
"I honestly can't fight so well, I don't have powers like your guy's. And Ruby needs help." I say, picking at my nail.

"Ugh. I feel so... worthless. You can ice Ruby's leg and freeze someone solid! Brook can heal anything! Kamiko is an amazing fighter! Tyri is... I don't even konw what, yet, but... I can come an evil half cat down, big whoop." I sigh.

"Woah! Woah, Em. Calm down." Julane soothes, patting my back nervously. "What's the matter - oi, lay back down... 'at's a girl... Alright, what's the matter?"
I lay there, panting, but say between gasps. "B-Brook... hurt...or in trouble...she...she..."
"Ah, yes, Em, we know that - she's deuling at the moment -"
"NO! No, more...more than that...hurt...severely...something happened...maybe not physically, but...needs...help..." My breathing becomes more rapid and I thump back to the ground and lay there, panting.
"Mae." I say tersely. "Go to Brook. I'll make sure Ruby's alright."
"But, Em-" Mae begins, looking scared.
I turn around. "They need you. You can save them! Go!"
Mae nods, and sprints away.
"Need..." Em mutters weakly, "Need to... help..." her eyes close, but after a minute, they spring open again. "RUN!" she yells.
I don't question her, and grab her by the arm and pull her along. Behind me, a horde of snakes are hissing and slithering towards us. Em's fear!
We are running as fast as possilbe, but Em is weak, and they are gaining on us. Suddenly, I feel a rush, similar to when I speak to animals. I focus on it.
It becomes bigger and bigger, consuming me, until I feel my skin pulled tight. and then it loosens.
I have transformed into a tiger.
I growl. Em looks frighten, but understands, and gets on my back. I run the opposite direction of the snakes and the others. I accidentally step on a weak spot, and the floor gives way into beneath the house.
"But, Em-" Mae begins, looking scared.
I turn around. "They need you. You can save them! Go!"
Mae nods, and sprints away.

I find the orphan girl just sitting there. There is no enemy anywhere. I crouch down, gently shaking her. I look up at her face and I'm shocked. They're dull, lifeless. Something bad must have happened...wait, where's Dylan? Oh, no. It dawns on me.
I look around and growl lightly. Where am I?
Ruby slowly stands up, and whisper, her breath making fog, "Where-? How did you-"

Blast after blast after blast, I hit the lady, but she just reformed from dust. What the heck was going on!? I could feel my arms getting heavy and weak, and my ice melting quicker. "Just... Stop not dying!" I exclaim as I do a big attack with both arms. It forces her back to the wall, where she slammed the brick and crumbled to dust. But like she had done before, the lady arose, in perfect health.
"Give up, child. Your friends have already fallen." she hissed, lunging at me. I jump back and her nails nick my knee as she fell.
I throw all my power into the last icy explosion, and it hit the woman in the chest, exploding in snowflakes and icicles. The force of the blow threw me backwards, and I hit the wall, searing pain coursing through my body. The last thing I felt was cold win blowing on my face, then I lost couscous.

"Mmph." When she sees that it's safe, she plops back down again, but I growl with urgency.

I quickly slipped off her back and looked once into her eyes. She sighed in relief and nodded. I blinked once, and my hair once again grew black, tendrils of color creeping down my shoulder length locks. My eyes became yellow and with tiny popping noises, my fingernails slightly lengthened.
I wasn't a full on animal, like Indigo, but my panther DNA was kicking in.
I growled, "Run!", and Ruby understood this time. She was human, but with a cat like version of herself. We ran. For too long. But as a tiger, I could handle it. Ruby was a bit out of breath, but had much more stamina than a normal human.

I see a bright light, barely visible. The way out! I grab Em and yank her onto me, and increase my speed, bursting out of the house.
But is isn't the woodsy outdoors by the house.
Its a barren ice cap, snow falling, surrounded by nothing but white. The house has disappeared behind us, which means two things.
One: we are stuck here.
Two: we are stuck here -- alone.

"I don't know." I growl. I think panther-Em understands, as she sighs. Then her gaze jerks up and she gasps. That's when I realize that my orange and black stripes are becoming pale, and I am becoming smaller.
"I adapt!" I whisper.
I have turned into a snow-white wolf. Em has gone back into half-panther form, so that her animal instincts kick in, and she is less cold. Her hair has gone dark. The good thing about her being half panther is she can speak to me and humans, hold things and claw, and has amazing reflexes.
"Well," I say, "We'd better try to get out of here."

I glance around to see the flurries were coming through a huge hole in the side of the house that was about the size of a car. A whole blizzard was forming outside, wind whipping cold air. I look around for the lady I had blasted, but she was no where in sight. Neither were my friends. "Indigo! Em! Hello?!" I call, walking towards the hole in the wall.

I dip my head against the cold and say, "Brr, we'd better get out of this blizzard, it's getting at my skin."
Shuffling through the thick snow, the wind whipping in my hair. As I cursed in French, I see paw prints in the snow. "What the... Em? Indigo?" I call again.
