Ryan Castle | 1 comments The last book I read was Omaha Beach on D-day by Jean-David Morvan who wrote about the life of Robert Capa and his journey to becoming a world famous war and battle photographer. I enjoyed reading this book and it is a easier read but I would recommend it to a reader who enjoys informational text.

Cody Tierney | 1 comments The last book I read is Michling. It's about the life of two twins that get separated during the Holocaust. and the adversity they had to overcome. It's a very interesting book and one thing that I liked about the book is that, I didn't hear about the big picture of the Holocaust. I got to learn about one person's life the whole time and see what they personally had to go through. One thing I didn't like is that the book was all over the place at times. I got confused at who was talking at times, and what was happening to who.

Kennedy Smith | 1 comments The Blind Side was last book i've read. It's the story about Michael Oher and how he became an NFL player. The plot starts out from when he was very poor, to moving in with this family and then to the NFL. It's a rags to riches story. Every high school student should read it.

Breana Blauwkamp | 1 comments The last book I read was I'll Give You The Sun. I think it was a great book. Its about these two twins, Jude and Noah. They go through many different things that test their once inseprable relationship. The book is just about their lives, partially before everything goes downhill then the rest of the book is all afterwards and how they get through everything. The book is realistic fiction yet a splash of fantasy in some areas when it goes through Noah's thoughts which can bevery interesting. I'd say people that like reading about personal relationships/life changing events would enjoy this book.

Aidan Tobar | 1 comments The last book I read was "One The Come Up." I worked all day, everyday over spring break, and when there was down time I would read at my desk. The book is about a young poet/rapper who has the chance to make it big, but is forced into putting out material that isn't real to her. I liked this book, especially becasue im a music person, but its modern and fast enought that and high schooler could read it with ease.

Noah Wright | 1 comments The book that I read over spring break was Broke Millennial by Erin Lowry. It was a pretty quick read, it's a book where you can jump around to different chapters that interest you more. I would recommend reading the whole book because we are graduating this year and getting thrown into the real world, and it has really good information about managing money, student loans/debt, your relationship with money, etc. Any student that is interested about managing money and learning about how to control your money and spending impulses should read this book.

Brittany LaDow | 1 comments Over spring break I picked out the book "Picking Cotton" by Jennifer Thompson-Cannino, Ronald Cotton, and Erin Torneo. I picked this book because it is a memoir and memoirs are my favorite type of books. I was able to read it in a week so I would say it is a fast read. It is about a woman named Jennifer who gets attacked and she is put in the position where she has to choose who her attacker was and she chooses the wrong guy. This book shows her and Cottons journey through this difficult time in their lives.

Gabriel | 1 comments As of now, while I am reading the "Children of Blood and Bone" by Tomi Adeyemi, my last book that I fully completed was "Slaughter-House Five", a WWII focused book that followed the strange life of Billy Pilgrim. It's hard to truly describe the book, due to how Billy 'travels through memories and events' throughout it's entirety, but it has a good deal of mystery to it, forcing the reader to piece together the story and mentality of Billy himself.

Amiya | 1 comments The last book I read was "I Know What You Did Last Summer" by Lois Duncan. The book was very interesting because they were trying to find out who knew what they did. They didn't mean to do what they did, it was an accident but just because nobody knows the man is trying to kill them.

message 61: by Andrew (new)

Andrew Capriglione | 1 comments The last book I read was "Salt To The Sea". The book was pretty good and I liked how each chapter was told by a different person in a rotation which was cool to see the same events through a different perspective. Perhaps the biggest downside is that the book is quite a slow read and there's not much to keep the reader hooked into the story.

Brooke Johnson | 1 comments Orbiting Jupiter The last book I read was Orbiting Jupiter by Gary Schmidt. It was a nice short read that anyone would be able to finish in a reasonable amount of time. The storyline was catching which made it easy to get hooked.

Gaia Battaglieri | 1 comments The last book that I read was The old man and the sea, by E.Hemingway. I actually already read this book when I was younger and at that time I found it boring but this time I actually liked it. To me was the perfect match between thinking and action. The trama is pretty simple and I think that this helps you to focus on what is the actually meaning. I recommend this book to anyone who likes short and incisive book that you don't understand until you turn the last page and think over it.

Nicole Beckmann | 1 comments The last book I read was Unbroken for our WWII paper. It was a fast moving book and I kept wanting to know what happened/happens. The book goes through some of Louis Zamperini past before WWII, when he was a soldier and captive, and what happened after WWII. Any student who is likes WWII anc wants to know what it was like to be held captive would like this book.

Caleb Wardell | 1 comments The last book I read was This Is Where It Ends by Marieke Nijkamp. I really liked how during the book, they flipped scenes. They went back and forth through the experiences of the students during the shooting. There wasn't really anything that I didn't like. I really enjoyed it But the only like red flag was the shooting, but I understand why they did it with school shootings happening a lot more in recent years.

Bella | 1 comments The last book I read was "Vanishing Girls" by Lauren Oliver. The book started off really slow, but quickened up as I got farther in the book. The book deals with a lot of teen problems that go on today, therefore it's easy to relate to. I would definitely recommend the book if your into mysteries and figuring things out.

message 67: by Alivia Oley (new)

Alivia Oley | 1 comments The last thing I read was Monday's Not Coming, this book was pretty boring throughout the first 100 pages because you weren't able to connect with the book and it was really confusing. This book was about a girl named Claudia and her friend Monday Charles, Monday was missing and the only person that noticed was Claudia. After the first day back to school Claudia was worried because Monday didn't show up, continuously after that day she was trying everything possible to find her. While going and visiting Monday's mom she wouldn't tell Claudia anything about the missing of her daughter.

message 68: by Rose (new)

Rose Sanreta | 1 comments The last book I read was "My Friend Dhamer" It was a graphic novel. I liked the setting of the book. The story was also good. It was interesting to read about how he became a serial killer. I think any student will like it. It's a good story line.

message 69: by Phillip (new)

Phillip Youngman | 1 comments The last book I read was Tom Clancy: Power and Empire by Marc Cameron. It is an interesting read, as there are several plot lines that emerge throughout the book, such as a political chess match, counterterrorism, and fighting to stop one of many child prostitution rings in the world. As the book progresses, you start to see areas where those plot lines converge, and the repercussions of that. If you like a good fiction book that pulls you through a realistic world, with many twists and turns, you may like this book.
This book is not for the faint of heart, as it is 600+ pages of deep story lines, but I would give it a solid 9/10.

message 70: by Sharif (new)

Sharif | 2 comments The last book i finished was Tyrell. I like how it showed how some people was homeless after there father went to jail and couldnt sale drugs. Based on a situation that could and have happened to someone in this world. Tyrell and his family had to stay at a homeless hotel because his mom never worked because his dad always worked to keep there family together safe. His girl friend always looked of for him and the family. Anyone that wants to read something that could happen and funny because of the things that goes on there.

Celeste Medina | 1 comments The last book that I have read was called "Still Alice". Starting this book, I was kind of nervous that It would be super boring, but i found myself actually enjoying it! The book was really deep and the author really drew me into the story, it was like I felt what the main character was feeling. The story was so real! The story was about a woman named Alice who was diagnosed with Alzheimer Disease at a very young age. As this disease progresses she knows that shes getting more and more sick and tries as hard as she can to live her life normal without forgetting who she is as a person.
