Awesome =D

So I just added Broken Things to the spreadsheet.

And then I'm definitely planning on reading two more, is it okay if I add those to the spreadsheet? I'm currently reading them.

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 3851 comments Hey everyone, check your status's on the spreadsheet for books you put in the sheet. they should be either marked "yes" or 'CR" in column Q depending on whether you've posted them to the review thread ("yes") or you haven't yet (CR).

Yes anything that you are definitely either currently reading or are going to be reading soon, mark those on the spreadsheet. Just don't put books in there that you might read, but have no definite plans in the real near future.

If you are able to write it from your phone, someone else on your team can post it for you on the review thread.

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 3851 comments There are nine of us so we could assign them randomly (2-4 tasks per person) based on planned reading speed. Before we do that can we have a quick check in with whoever is still with us?

✔️ Jammin' Jenny (4)
✔️Vicki
✔️Claire
✔️Sharon
✔️ Maya (1)
✔️Bookworm
✔️Caroline (2)
Damselflies
✔️Anna (2)

When you check in, please note if you'd prefer 1, 2, 3 or 4 of the tasks still not claimed...

Checking in and hopefully will be able to do 2 more tasks by the end of this month.

message 72: by Caroline (new)

Caroline | 2102 comments Checking in!

I am currently reading two books I hope to finish by the end of the month. Killing Commendatore could count for art on cover, June in text, or 6 in page count. Axiomatic could count for gold title or published in 2014. I've added them to the sheet under art on cover and gold title. We can also move them around.

I can't commit to any additional books by the end of the month. If needed I could take one random category, but because I'm a slow reader I'd have to focus on that book and might not be able to finish the other two.

Do you have two that seem to appeal more to you than any others?

message 75: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 5341 comments Jenny, I added five or six books today and posted those. And I have several books that I have to read by the 30th, so let me look at what I have to read for other challenges and see if any of those fit. I will get back to you ASAP.

I'm just about to post for the red, blue, and green cover, and the other book meets the criteria for person wearing sunglasses, so I guess those two work for me!

message 77: by Maya (new)

Maya White | 734 comments Hi hi!! So I just finished a book, Fawkes (I wasn’t originally planning on including cause I didn’t think I was going to be able to finish it, but I finished it). I could put it under MC is a spy. And then I’m planning on finishing Sweet Evil and Light as a Feather before the end of the month. But I think that will be all I can read. And I believe I put Sweet Evil and Light as a Feather in the spreadsheet. But if we have to move them around to fit the categories, I’m down for it. Whatever helps to complete our tasks.

message 78: by Jammin Jenny (new)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 3851 comments Hi Maya! Yes can you put that under MC is a spy? That would be awesome!!

message 79: by Claire (last edited Apr 27, 2019 07:01AM) (new)

Claire | 499 comments Hi Jenny,I have added the books I read and will update in the thread.
I have done published in May, page count with number 6 , MC makes new friend and MC has new job
I am ok with taking other tasks too,but the list ones might be difficult.

message 80: by Claire (new)

Claire | 499 comments If wehave books that don’t fit a category, or are a double can we still add them and get points?

message 81: by Caroline (new)

Caroline | 2102 comments Claire if we have doubles, I think we need to save them until we finish our first hunt and then we can use them for our second hunt. If they don’t match any category, I don’t think they count. But I would expect most books to match a category since there are so many.

message 82: by Jammin Jenny (last edited Apr 27, 2019 02:13PM) (new)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 3851 comments Yes Caroline is right. But you can add those books to the banked sheet and note what task(s) they work for so when we finish with round 2 we can use those banked books in the best spots and then figure out what we need for round 2.

That's why I was trying to make sure we all picked some of the round 1 tasks that seemed to be more "difficult"...

Right now it looks like we still have the following tasks "unclaimed"

Cover has a winter scene
Flip Flops on cover
Title that rhymes
‘June’ in text
✔️Book published in 2014 - Claire
Publication date has the numbers 4,5,& 6 in it (i.e. April 5th, 2016) [in any order]
✔️Author’s first name is the same as your middle name - Claire
Published from the year you were born
Book is off the first page of the Best Book Boyfriends list
Book is within the first 25 books on the YA Weapon on Cover list
Tagged ‘sports’ on first page of tags
MC has an unusual pet
MC has blonde hair
Animal as the MC (can be a shifter of some sort)
Book is set in spring
Robot in book

If some of the faster readers in our group can take on 3 or 4 of these we can finish out round 1.

What do you all think about that plan?

message 83: by Claire (new)

Claire | 499 comments I will start with author has the same middlename as you and a book from 2014,
I will add my other books as banked books.

Maya White | 734 comments Alrighty so I posted my review for Light as a Feather. I'm going to finish Sweet Evil and post my review for it tomorrow.

message 90: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 5341 comments Jenny, I’m sorry but I haven’t been on very much the last couple of days. I can do June in text because I finished a book yesterday that will work I just need to do the review for it.

And I think about the other ones and see what I’ve already used and what I haven’t used and see if I can cover anything.

message 91: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 5341 comments Do these have to be finished by tomorrow night, April 30?

message 92: by Jammin Jenny (new)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 3851 comments No, this is a quarterly challenge. I just think we have to finish all of Round 1 tasks before we can start on Round 2. But again, if you can't read for any of the remaining tasks in Round 1, you can always bank your book on the banked books sheet, and note which task(s) it works for so when we do finish Round 1 we can populate Round 2 with our banked books before we see what we still need to read.

message 93: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 5341 comments Sounds good. :)

message 94: by Vicki (last edited Apr 29, 2019 09:54PM) (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 5341 comments Jenny, I just added these to the SS and review thread: Title that rhymes, "June" in text, and MC has blond hair.

I took my name OFF of the SS for Tagged ‘sports’ on first page of tags because I know that's easy to find so I put that book under "title rhymes" instead.

I also am going to add black/white cover after I do my review so you can cross that one off the list. I'll have the review done/posted shortly. I am also going to cover Book is within the first 25 books on the YA Weapon on Cover list by tomorrow night because I am reading a book that just happens to fit and didn't even know it. :)

message 98: by Caroline (new)

Caroline | 2102 comments Hey team, FYI for my current two books in the SS, which I had hoped to finish by today, I haven't made as much progress as I wanted. I usually do most of my reading on the weekends, so my new ETA is this weekend.

message 99: by Jammin Jenny (new)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 3851 comments Hey guys. With April wrapping up here are the remaining open tasks not claimed in Round 1:

Cover Categories:
Blue Cover (50%)

Flip Flops on cover

Publication Date Categories: Publication date has the numbers 4,5,& 6 in it (i.e. April 5th, 2016) [in any order]

Member Categories Published from the year you were born

Goodreads Inspired Categories: Book is off the first page of the Best Book Boyfriends list

Genre & Tags/Shelves Categories: Tagged ‘sports’ on first page of tags
