Spring into Horror
Yesss. I have no TBR picked out yet. Well, I have a TBR for Pre-Readathon Challenge #2 and Dewey's. And they don't consist of horror/mystery/thriller. lol. I really want to get my ARC of The First Mistake, hoping it will be a great April 1 mystery/thriller. They're supposed to be sending it any day now!

I haven't looked at any of the Dewey's pre-readathons ----- really only because I am so behind on my March readings that I don't want to commit to anything else.
The First Mistake sounds really interesting!

Well the first one is to just read as much as you can by Mar 29! And the second one is just to read 24 hours from Mar 30-Apr 5! Easy peasy to to fit into your regularly scheduled reading. ;) It's a little lower key this time because I think Gabby and Kate have been pretty busy in their normal lives.

I saw "the prompts" .... it's more an intellectual exercise .... lol ... I am not allowing myself ANY reading commitments unless I finish my March goals.

I might do the prereadathon challenge 2 - it mostly falls into April, so by then I SHOULD have finished my March books.

I'm hoping to do some catching up on fantasy next month, but I've got tons of thrillers on my tbr so maybe I'll pick one up besides my Dewey's read. I wish I had the time to participate in the pre-readathon goals.
How did I miss this thread!? I will do this unofficially. Hopefully will get my audio book request next week, The Trench by Steve Alten. 2nd book in The Meg series.

I read From a Buick 8 last week, and my current audiobook read is Sometimes I Lie. Not sure I'll be getting to many more horror and thriller reads this month.
Books I've read for this:
1. The Haunting of Hill House
2. The Turn of the Screw
3. We Have Always Lived in the Castle
4. Every Heart a Doorway
5. Hell House
6. Down Among the Sticks and Bones
7. The Stand I am counting this as I had only read like 100 pages of it in March.
8. The Ghost Bride
9. In an Absent Dream

I like it so far, but then I’m not very far yet. I saw they’re making a miniseries adaptation starring Sarah Michelle Gellar.

I think I might re-read The Shining soon. My paperback copy with microscopic print really inhibited my pleasure of reading it back in 2017 so I'm on hold for it on Overdrive. I really want to read Doctor Sleep before the movie comes out! Dang, Stephen King has had an incredible couple of years for adaptations! lol

Dr. Sleep is also on my list. Maybe we can read that together?

Sure! Probably won't be able to fit it into this Readathon though. I have to wait about 2 weeks for The Shining.

Great! Will you join us in the buddy read? I too have Doctor Sleep slated for May.

This is more of a philosophical question. Could I count Every Heart a Doorway toward this reading challenge? I know it's fantasy but it has such dark aspects, with those underworlds etc.

I would. It does get dark.

!! Started listening to

I started listening to
yesterday. It's less solving killer cases and more 1000 ways to die/1000 ways to kill. Meh. I'm almost halfway through now.

Yeah, it mostly is. The second half has picked up a little but coming off the heels of I'll Be Gone in the Dark and Evil Has a Name, it's very mediocre.

I haven't come across a true crime book that I loved as much as I'll Be Gone in the Dark.

Here is the 411. Read at least one scary book. Psshhhh, we can do that in one afternoon!
