Hi book lovers and reading enthusiasts!

Michelle from Seasons of Reading is hosting her annual Spring into Horror readathon again. It runs all through April. I am, of course, participating.

Here is the 411. Read at least one scary book. Psshhhh, we can do that in one afternoon!

For further info or to officially join, see her blog: https://seasonsreading.blogspot.com/2....

I'll be updating my reading journey here and on my blog. I am hoping for a lively discussion :)

Yesss. I have no TBR picked out yet. Well, I have a TBR for Pre-Readathon Challenge #2 and Dewey's. And they don't consist of horror/mystery/thriller. lol. I really want to get my ARC of The First Mistake, hoping it will be a great April 1 mystery/thriller. They're supposed to be sending it any day now!

I haven't looked at any of the Dewey's pre-readathons ----- really only because I am so behind on my March readings that I don't want to commit to anything else.

The First Mistake sounds really interesting!

Well the first one is to just read as much as you can by Mar 29! And the second one is just to read 24 hours from Mar 30-Apr 5! Easy peasy to to fit into your regularly scheduled reading. ;) It's a little lower key this time because I think Gabby and Kate have been pretty busy in their normal lives.

I saw "the prompts" .... it's more an intellectual exercise .... lol ... I am not allowing myself ANY reading commitments unless I finish my March goals.

I might do the prereadathon challenge 2 - it mostly falls into April, so by then I SHOULD have finished my March books.

message 10: by Shelby (new)

Shelby Suderman | 2182 comments I'm hoping to do some catching up on fantasy next month, but I've got tons of thrillers on my tbr so maybe I'll pick one up besides my Dewey's read. I wish I had the time to participate in the pre-readathon goals.

I started listening to Evil Has A Name The Untold Story of the Golden State Killer Investigation by Paul Holes , because now I'm on a GSK kick. And true crime is the ultimate horror!

I like it so far, but then I’m not very far yet. I saw they’re making a miniseries adaptation starring Sarah Michelle Gellar.

I think I might re-read The Shining soon. My paperback copy with microscopic print really inhibited my pleasure of reading it back in 2017 so I'm on hold for it on Overdrive. I really want to read Doctor Sleep before the movie comes out! Dang, Stephen King has had an incredible couple of years for adaptations! lol

This is more of a philosophical question. Could I count Every Heart a Doorway toward this reading challenge? I know it's fantasy but it has such dark aspects, with those underworlds etc.

Yeah, it mostly is. The second half has picked up a little but coming off the heels of I'll Be Gone in the Dark and Evil Has a Name, it's very mediocre.
