Book about Dracula's Early Life from Dracula's PoV

Pretty sure the book falls under Horror, but might also be Fantasy. It was published sometime around early 1990s. The plot revolves around Dracula and his "true story" as told by the character. He attends a magic/sorcery school in a cave under a lake in Transylvania.

This was about his human life before being turned. It also contained a scenario where he was taught magick at the Scholomance in Transylvania as well as how he ruled the land as a human then as a vampire."
