Book One Description: Broke, almost homeless, and recently fired. Those are my official reasons for answering a wanted ad for a skeevy-looking bartender gig.

It went downhill the moment they asked me to do a trial shift instead of an interview—to see if I'd mesh with their "special" clientele. I think that part went great. Their customers were complete dickheads, and I was an asshole right back. That's the definition of fitting in, right?

I expected to get thrown out on my ass. Instead, they… offered me the job?

It turns out this place isn't a bar. It's a guild. And the three cocky guys I drenched with a margarita during my trial? Yeah, they were mages. Either I'm exactly the kind of takes-no-shit bartender this guild needs, or there's a good reason no one else wants to work here.

So what's a broke girl to do? Take the job, of course—with a pay raise.

Note: The three mages are definitely sexy, but this series isn't a reverse harem. It's 100% fun, sassy, fast-paced urban fantasy.

Tori has no problem getting herself into trouble in every book in the Guild Codex series, but each one is a complete adventure—no cliffhanger endings.

Ch 16 (71%) - (view spoiler)[ I'm still hung up on the fact that police just have to let mystics go in the hopes that MagiPol will pick them up eventually. It seems like a stupid and ineffective system. Now we have the guild taking matters into their own hands. (hide spoiler)]
Finished - I liked this book. (view spoiler)[ I'm still kind of hoping that it turns into an RH, even though I don't think this author writes them. And I'm still wondering if Tori has some latent magic in her somewhere - although I also like that she is just a regular human too. Oh well, I'm interested to see what happens next. (hide spoiler)]

I've been thinking about it every time she says stuff about them being prisoners or living in fear - I think she is projecting and it will turn out that the Ghost is actually giving them a safe haven. Finished - (view spoiler)[ Aw, I love how Tori has sort of remained "friends" with Zak, and I really liked how the guys barely questioned her about what was going on before circling the wagons to rescue Nadine, etc. They are sweet boys. I can't help but think she is right, though, that there has to be something to how she stumbled into this world and even now has an air sprite and whatever Twiggy is as pets. It was really hard not to think about it when all 4 guys were lined up in the apartment for her to ogle, but given how things went with breaking up with Aaron, I see it. She needs to just be friends with these guys......although I was certain that something was sparking with Ezra.....nope! Not going to think about it, they need to be friend zoned - all of them!

I love this series! I can't wait to see what happens in the next book. It's obvious that Ezra is half-demon so we will get to know more about that, right? There is still unfinished business with the Russian chick - Tori will likely have to save Zak's butt there. And will Tori ever make up with her brother? Eek! I can't wait! (hide spoiler)]

Finished - (view spoiler)[ not exactly a happy ending, but satisfactory. I still don't understand why demon mages are killed in the first place - it seems like those asshats in the Keys were more dangerous.

I kind of missed Zak in this book. For a second there, I thought maybe he had something to do with the agile demon that took down the winged one and saved them in the park. BTW - did you see that the author is creating a spin-off series with Robin Page's story? The first book comes out in September. I love Annette Marie, so I'll probably give it a try. I'm just sad that I have to wait so long for it and the next book in this series (October!). Ugh, I guess I could finish up the Spell Weaver series in the meantime. (hide spoiler)]

Finished: Its killing me... I am dying because this is book 4 and she has yet to pick someone! I just recently started the Stone and Steel series by her. It has the RH vibes as well but the Girl never picks anyone.. Its apparent that this is Annette Marie's MO.. Keep the readers dangling desperate for a matchup.. The books are still good but the frustration is killing me!
