It was because when she touches objects she can feel/see things about the person/people that have handled it. As a child it was difficult for Ash...not that it was any easier as an adult.

Finally done. This one ended well. Had some good action. I thought I was not going to like it but it was good. Not as good as the previous ones. I have to say that some of the plots overlapping in multiples gets hard to follow at times but I'm gathering that all these instances are all stimulating from the first or second book?
