Ah I went with what we rolled. I never did figure out how this game worked. Then I'll read
- Alice Kimberly (Haunted Bookshop Mystery #1)
Week 9 - spot #61
The Ghost and Mrs. McClure - Alice Kimberly (Haunted Bookshop Mystery #1)
FINISHED 10/29
2 stars
I absolutely hate noir fiction and had I realized this series was steeped in it, I would have skipped it regardless of the fact that it's set in Rhode Island. I feel that that entire genre was written for the male reader with all those dames, broads and gams which I find distinctly irritating. And our "hero" Jack died in 1949 so he's all about that noir-speak and therefore tiresome to listen to.
I liked the mystery and found myself hoping that Penelope would pull through and solve the mystery without Jack's help but of course, that wasn't going to happen. This isn't a series I would continue since Jack would drive me stark raving mad.
Well ladies, it's been fun but I'm glad it's done. Thanks Skandia for getting me involved and I hope I made a difference on the team even if we didn't win. lol
