Review: I need to state that I really do not like books that are these genres. So I chose one from one of my favorite authors. Please don't decide not to read based on my rating/review.

This is a story about Zoey who is a thief. Daniel died in a car crash and is now a vampire. She has a group of characters (witch, fairy, werewolf) that are helping her steal the Light of Alhorra for a demon for one million dollars but doesn't realize at the time if she doesn't turn it over she will have an eternity of being in hell. There are twists and turns while they try to find the Light.

Review: Things are looking pretty good for Mark Sava for once - recently married, with a newborn daughter and a successful business, he's enjoying his new life when he receives some unwelcome news. On assignment in Tbilisi, Georgia, Mark's former boss and current employee Larry Bowlan has died, ostensibly of a heart attack. Hopping on the next flight to Tbilisi to deal with Larry's death, he soon finds that there is more to it than an old man expiring from natural causes, however - someone has tampered with the camera and laptop Larry was using for his work on behalf of Mark's company as contracted by the CIA, the body has been swiftly embalmed to preclude the possibility of running tests back in the US and all samples taken from it during the autopsy have been disposed of, and to top it off, Mark finds a painting of a woman he once knew, back when he first became involved in the spy business decades ago, hanging in the room his friend died in.

Once again, the reader is in for a gripping, fastpaced thrillride featuring a complex conspiracy to unravel as well as a trip down memory lane as the story digs deeper than ever before into Mark Sava's past. If there are any more books in this series coming at some point, I'll definitely be there to read them.

Review: In this story, Jack is arrested by the FBI at the beginning of the book as someone is killing women. The profiler feels it is someone like Jack. Women are being killed with no apparent reason as to how it's being done. Jack and a FBI agent try to figure out how this is happening and why. I enjoyed this one but not as much as the ones where Jack is in danger.

This was a quirky fun book. Mara is a witch who is having a pretty crappy month. Gus is her best friend and provides some humour. When he convinces Mara to use her powers to make her life better things take a surprising twist when she inherits a house but she has to contend with the ghost of Aunt Tillie. Not the best of its type but not awful.

Review: Kat has barely settled in after moving back to her small hometown of Cherry Hills when she discovers her neigbour, old Mrs. Tinsdale, dead in her apartment. The only witness to Mrs. Tinsdale's murder is her cat Matty, whom Kat promptly takes in. But how do you get a cat to point out a murderer? Looks like Kat will just have to snoop around herself.

This was a very cute, short cozy mystery read. I was suitably entertained and my cats approve.

Review: I loved this stoy had an "older" man, Sebastian, not realize at first that he was in love with one of his royal prince protectees as he is the head of the royal guard. The prince, Colton, knows horses. He gets in trouble for helping a horse that the current owner uses cruel means to make the horse walk in a particular gait better. Colton and Sebastian pressures the owner to sell it to Colton who want to start a new racing stable, has interfering relatives and friends and the horses become as much characters as the humans. the sex was good and the romance was there also. I love that the plot and action were both important to the author.

Review:

Heather Gudenkauf writes, in my opinion, the perfect thrillers. She masterfully picks apart the threads of the stories, at the exact right pace. The ratio of questions to answers keeps you coming back and turning pages. I also love how it's told from multiple perspectives in multiple points in time. I'm sure some people might find that off-putting but for me it really makes the story.

Really enjoyed this book, beginning to end. It didn't take the "favorite book by this author" spot but it was absolutely as solid as all her others. Great mystery, great characters, very satisfying read.

This has been on my TBR for what seems like forever, this was not what I was expecting. The MC is out to get revenge for the death of her friend. The twists and turns in the story keeps you guessing until the end. There are many hints to how Jane contemplated revenge, how she gets revenge is perfect, meeting out justice without shedding blood.

Review: The Republic and the Empire are at the brink of war, and Loch and her crew may be possibly accidentally partially to blame - either way, various factions are less than pleased with her exploits. The only thing that might avert the war, Loch is told, would be handing over a certain ancient Elven manuscript to the Empire - the very same manuscript she has already stolen once and is now tasked with stealing again. What seems like a fairly straightforward task for her ragtag bunch of thieves and misfits is, unsurprisingly enough, a lot less simple than it may sound...

Great rollicking fun. I adore a good heist caper, especially when it comes with a gang of quirky misfits and loads of humour. Loved the first book in the series and this one was just as good - looking forward to book three!

Review: I have to say I love this series and this one is the best of it. Maybe because I first read it before chronic pain was in my life and the absurdities of the series spark my weird sense of humor. Sam grew up in the Slums of the capital city of Lockes. the thing that brought him out of the Slums was when he turned a group of teenagers, who were chasing him, to stone. It brought him and his family to the attention of the King's wizard and the royal court. He then became apprentice to the King's wizard, Morgan of the Shadows. Here he meets Ryan Foxheart, the Knight Commander of the knights assigned to protect the King and members of his court. Add in Gary A hornless Unicorn who is also gay and Tiggy, their half giant friend. They all go on a quest to Rescue the prince heir to the kingdom who was captured by a dragon. also the prince is Ryan's fiancee and if this is not complicated enough Ryan is also the cornerstone of Sam's magic and Sam has more power than any other wizard alive and needs a corner stone to stabilize his magic. Prince is rescued but Sam and Ryan fell in love on the quest. the prince reluctantly lets Ryan free of the engagement and Sam has to go north to learn some magic matters at the oldest wizard castle.

Review: This is a really good Contemporary Romance. Some angst but not much. Brady is a pilot for hire that returns home to Sunshine, Idaho to be with his foster brothers for a bit. He meets Lilah, who runs an animal kennel. I loved Brady and Lilah. She really got under his skin.

On Roger's tracking post, everyone's spots are filled in, I just didn't know if he had asked for the stamp yet or if I was missing something :)

I don't know where my comment went but it's not showing up for me anymore. So captains, are we done with disability or are we missing some info or something?

Review: This book was hilarious. Chase, a doctor, is friends with Josie, a baker. Chase needs to find an apartment and Josie's roommate has just moved out so they decide to live together. The chemistry is off the charts and funny situations keep happening to them to prevent them from coming to the realization that they are in love. I love Lauren Blakely's books.

Review:

Another super cute novel, just like the first. Clover is a kind and warm-hearted middle grade heroine who takes her responsibilities seriously. I struggle with the whiny, bratty (accurate) heroes of some younger books but have made it through both of these without a single eye-roll. These books do read fairly young but they're enjoyable, especially for the aspect of seeing who gets matched with which magical animal. I think there's only one more book in this series so far but I truly do hope more are written.
