Alex Earvin (halfof2) | 34 comments as I recall ... and I think the female main character meets a guy and they wind up on the dark side of town ... I didn't read the book completely as I lost track of the title ... I also believe that this book was not originally a US title ... it may originate from Australia ...

As far as I can remember ... there is a bar/night club that they frequent and I think someone that is associated with the club knows why the dark side of town is supposedly dangerous ... the boy that the main character meets is a stranger to her ... they kind of just take off together. I wonder if something happens in the bar/night club ... I want to say that yes, something did happen.

Julia | 69 comments There is Tell the Wind and Fire which is a retelling of A Tale of Two Cities. It's about a girl whose boyfriend's life was once saved by dark magic, and the two cities are split between dark and light magic. In exchange for his life being saved a doppleganger was created, which is like a dark twin.

It's probably *not* this one, but maybe it's a different retelling of A Tale of Two Cities?
