A TIME TRAVELLING GAME BOOK TRIAL

Hello all. If you are a child of the 80s who enjoyed playing Choose Your Own Adventure books, Fighting Fantasy books and Usborne Puzzle books then you should enjoy this new modern take on game books. If you have never played a game book before but enjoy Video games, especially the choice driven ones, then this is also for you. As for those who have no interest in games of any kind, but would like to read something different then you may also enjoy this.

For five days starting from the 30th Jan I am offering a free trial for my forthcoming Time Travelling Adventure Game Book: The Ghosts of Craven Manor.

This Trial is available in the UK and all other regions. The link below will take you to the UK Amazon page.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ghosts-Crave...

I apologise for the temporary cover. I can assure you that the full book will have a fully illustrated cover when it comes to release.

I know some of you would have preferred a physical book, and that is definitely something that is on the cards for the future, but for now the kindle format works particularly well for this adventure.

For those that play this and enjoy it enough to want to purchase the whole book, it should be available in the coming months. I have not set a price yet, but depending on this trial's popularity it could cost between £2.99- £4,99.

Please leave feedback on Amazon, on this group and anywhere else you are willing to do so. Also spread the word so other people can take advantage of this free trial.

Many thanks

Joe

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I've never read a choose your own adventure book before so I'm intrigued. I've bought it and will have a wee look at it when I get the chance. I'm reading about 4 other books at the minute so I'll try and finish 1 or 2 of them first!

Thank you Jud. I hope you enjoy the trial. All the best.

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments As you have had some interaction on here I'm not going to delete this thread yet Joseph but note for future reference do not start a new thread - add to the existing one here https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

or start your own author thread. There are instructions for that too, here
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

message 5: by Joseph (new)

Joseph Daniels | 23 comments Sorry about that. I will remember to do that in the future. I appreciate you not deleting this thread.

Many thanks.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments ALL CAPS as well as self promo outside of the group rules?

Tut.

Please do post in the correct thread, Joseph.

We love and support the authors in our group.

All we ask is mutual respect. :)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Do you have an author thread? If not, you could move this to the author section and make it your author thread and then you can do whatever you like (so long as it is titled properly so it can be found easier, there's a thread in the author section with the rules).

If you do that then it'll be like this never happened! And you'll be able to post about your book in the free books thread too.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Here's the thread Jud mentioned.

If you need any help please do just shout out.

We understand how confusing this stuff can be.

Just saying.

Joseph Daniels | 23 comments Thanks both of you. I'll do that.

I'd prefer a cookie. :D

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I took a wee look while still in work and I think I'm stuck in a loop. I'm 95% sure I've tried every option but I can't get past the first night and going back to the cafe

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments In order to fully earn your cookie you need to put your name in the thread title too Joseph ;)

Hi Jud, just got your message. I imagine by the time you've read this that you've probably progressed past the point you were stuck on. If not here is a hint.

The trick is to use the rewinds to your advantage and learn something on one that you can use in the next. You will also need to know how to use FK too as this is essential to progressing past this part. I hope this helps.

Hi Rosemary

I put my name in as you asked. Can you make my cookie a triple chocolate please with honeycomb pieces.

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I used the FKA but I haven't figured out how to move on yet. I've never done this kind of story before so I think I'm at a disadvantage!

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments If I reverse time does that take me back 1 chapter/passage do I hit the back button on my reader or do I click the link under the chapter/passage?

message 23: by Benjamin (new)

Benjamin Appleby-Dean (benjaminappleby-dean) Is it based on this real-life Craven's Manor?
https://historicengland.org.uk/listin...

I count at least two other books that seem to be set there, but I can't find any clues as to what makes it so popular?

Hi Jud to reverse time you need to click the link under the passage chapter.

To help you move forward try visiting the bookshop and gaining the FK there. Then continue playing to the next day reset. Then visit the Jewellery store. Then Use the FK obtained from the bookshop in the Jewellery store, to get more FK that will help you in the house. I hope this helps.

Hi Benjamin. It is not linked to the real Craven Manor. I just came up with a name I liked and then found out later that there were a number of other books with the same name. I was going to change it but then I though that my book would be different from those others anyway, so I kept it.

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I finally got it finished, once I figured out how to go back. I quite enjoyed it, although I think I missed how you were able to get more TTP?

Joseph Daniels | 23 comments I'm really glad you enjoyed it Jud. Don't worry, you didn't miss how to get more TTP. In the trial version there is no way to get more TTP. Even though you have finished it, feel free to explore the house and uncover more secrets. There are a few puzzles that may unlock some more teasers for what is to come. If you wouldn't mind would you be so kind as to leave me a short review on Amazon and Good reads please.

Do you think you may be interested in paying for the full version upon release? And what would you consider a fair price for such a book?

Many thanks
